In an embodiment, an apparatus comprises a primary user interface, a housing of non-translucent material, a slot of translucent material arranged in the housing, the slot having a primary function not related to user interaction, and a light source arranged inside the housing in proximity of the slot; wherein the apparatus has a primary mode in which the primary user interface is on and a secondary mode in which the primary user interface is off, and wherein the apparatus further comprises a controller configured to provide visual notifications to a user with the light source in response to predetermined events when the apparatus is in the secondary mode.

The method includes recognizing that the electronic device is at a first state, the first state including that electronic device is in an overturned and stationary state or that a predetermined amount of a display of the electronic device is covered; detecting a specific event in the first state; outputting a color notification associated with the detected specific event through at least a portion of the display; receiving a specific user input corresponding to the color notification, while outputting the color notification; and performing a function associated with the received specific user input.

A mobile computing device is disclosed. In some implementations, the mobile computing device may receive, from a user, an input character string for presentation on a touch-sensitive display of the mobile computing device, may select a replacement character string based on the input character string, and may replace the input character string with the selected replacement character string. In some aspects, the input character string may be a misspelled word and the replacement character string may be a correctly spelled version of the misspelled word. In other aspects, the input character string may be an abbreviation and the replacement character string may be a completed version of the abbreviation.

The present disclosure relates to a mobile terminal mounted with a cover to provide its associated functions, and a control method thereof. The present disclosure may include a body having a front surface and a rear surface thereof, a display unit disposed on the front surface, a cover disposed to cover the display unit, and provided with a window portion, and a controller configured to control the display unit to illuminate notification light on the window portion when an event occurs while the display unit is deactivated. The window portion may be formed to expose at least part of the display unit to the outside while covering the display, and the cover is formed to output the illuminated notification light at a boundary of the window portion.

A mobile computing device is disclosed. In some aspects, the mobile computing device may execute a first application using one or more processors, and may receive, during execution of the first application, a user selection of a shift key. The mobile computing device may transition a state of the shift key from an unlocked non-shift state to a shift state based on the user selection. The mobile computing device may change the execution of the first application to an execution of a second application, and clear the state of the shift key in response to changing the execution from the first application to the second application.

A mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same are provided. The mobile terminal includes a terminal body, a wireless communication unit configured to connect a wireless device to the terminal body to perform wireless communication with the terminal body, a sensing unit sensing that the terminal body approaches a user's head in a state in which a call for the terminal body is set to be connected to the external device through wireless communication, and a controller configured to, when it is determined that the terminal body has approached the user's head within a reference range according to the sensing results, control the wireless communication unit to transfer the call from the external device to the terminal body.

Provided is a mobile terminal having a sensor detecting movement thereof and an event processing method. The mobile terminal includes: an orientation detector for monitoring, in response to detection of an event, movement of the mobile terminal for a preset time duration to identify an orientation of the mobile terminal; and a controller for processing the event in an operating mode corresponding to the identified orientation. As a result, the user can readily switch operating modes of the mobile terminal by changing orientations thereof.

A captioned telephone service (CTS) system provides a CTS system which includes a CTS server, a user device, and a user application where the CTS system provides a call resumption alert module to the user such that the call resumption alert module sends an alert to the user to assist the user in re-engaging with the phone call when the call has resumed from the peer device after being on hold. The call resumption alert module provides a timer mode, any text mode, and specific text mode, of which the user can select one or more modes. Alternatively, the call resumption alert module may include a call resumption checking module and an alert module. The call resumption checking module checks whether the phone call resumed from the peer device, and the alert module generates an alert upon receiving a call resumption message from the call resumption checking module.

Systems and methods of providing a mobile phone cover are described. In some embodiments, the mobile phone cover may include, for example, a processor and lighting devices. The lighting devices may be operatively coupled to the processor. The processor may be configured, for example, to receive first signals based on second signals in which the second signals are generated by the mobile phone. The second signals may be indicative of an incoming call, an incoming message, a pending message, and/or a calendar alert (e.g., an upcoming appointment), for example. The processor may be configured to cause lighting of one or more of the lighting devices based on the first signals.
