INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

A LAN controller performs lighting control upon LEDs, which are configured to be subjected to lighting control by the LAN controller, on the basis of the start-up status of an apparatus after communicating with an external apparatus.

INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

A light-emitting diode (LED) is made brighter when the turning-on is controlled by a central processing unit (CPU) than when the turning-on is controlled by a local area network (LAN) controller.

INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM, AND INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD

An information processing device includes control circuitry. The control circuitry is configured to store, in a first memory, record information formed each time a predetermined event occurs in a device and perform an update process of successively updating an old piece of record information with a new piece of record information in the record information stored in the first memory; transmit the record information stored in the first memory via a first signal line; transfer communication abnormality record information stored in the first memory to a second memory, which is configured not to update record information, and store the communication abnormality record information in the second memory when a communication abnormality signal of the first signal line is supplied via a second signal line; and transmit the communication abnormality record information stored in the second memory via the first signal line when communication of the first signal line is restored.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SELECTIVELY SENDING, DELIVERY AND RECEIVING OF FAXES

Embodiment of systems and methods for the sending, delivery or receiving of faxes are disclosed herein. In particular, certain embodiments include a fax connector that may be deployed at users' sites, and a fax registration system that may be deployed remotely from these users' site. The fax connector can be accessed at a user's site over a computer based network in order to perform functions associated with faxing, including sending, receiving and obtaining status on faxes. The fax connector deployed at a sending user's site communicates with the fax registration system to obtain destination data associated with a recipient user's fax connector and transmits the fax to the destination fax connector over the computer based network based on the destination data obtained from the registration system. The fax can then be presented to the recipient at the recipient user's site.

An information processing apparatus includes a receiver and a controller. The receiver receives an image. The controller controls a state in a real space based on information included in the received image. In a further modification of the invention, the controller may move a position of the information processing apparatus according to an arrangement of the information processing apparatus in the image.

COMMUNICATION APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

A communication apparatus has a first communicator, a second communicator, and a controller. The first communicator is assigned a first destination number. The second communicator is assigned a second destination number. For image transmission, during parameter adjustment processing for adjusting parameters of the waveform of a selection signal which is a signal transmitting a destination number of a communication partner to call, the controller makes the first communicator transmit a selection single of the second destination number. After the selection signal of the second destination number is transmitted, the controller judges whether or not the second communicator receives a call.

Image forming apparatus, control method of image forming apparatus having print page setting, and storage medium

An image forming apparatus includes at least one memory that stores instructions, and at least one processor to execute the instructions to set a limit of a number of print pages, and receive a print job from an external apparatus. In a case where the received print job is a reserved print job for which a print setting has been made to wait for printing until a print start time specified by a user, a first counter indicating a reserved number of print pages based on the received reserved print job before starting execution of the received reserved print job is updated, and a second counter relating to an upper limit of a number of print pages in accordance with execution of printing based on the received print job is updated. In a case where a new print job is received in a state where a sum of the first counter and the second counter has reached the set limit of the number of print pages, a user is notified of a predetermined error.

Determining which communication standard to be used in a direct wireless communication system

A MFP including a wireless network interface can set whether wireless communication based on Wi-Fi Direct or wireless communication not based on Wi-Fi Direct is used as direct wireless communication via the wireless network interface. The MFP provides, in a method different from the wireless communication using the wireless interface, an external device with connection information for establishing network communication between the external device and the MFP. The MFP provides different types of connection information between the case of using wireless communication based on Wi-Fi Direct and the case of not using such wireless communication as direct wireless communication.
