INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME
A method for controlling an information processing apparatus includes a notifying step of, if an error is occurring in a printing apparatus under non-completion of an initial setting process for the printing apparatus when a predetermined program is operating on the information processing apparatus, executing a notification process for notifying a user of the error occurring in the printing apparatus on the basis of error information, the initial setting process being a process executed in response to the user turning on the printing apparatus for a first time after the printing apparatus is unpacked, and not executing the notification process if an error is occurring in the printing apparatus under completion of the initial setting process for the printing apparatus when the predetermined program is operating on the information processing apparatus.
Print process control system and methods
A print process control system includes a plurality of printing devices and an order management system to manage print jobs to the printing devices. Each printing device has an achievable quality level corresponding to its ability to meet color printing requirements. Job data for a print job is parsed to identify spot colors related to colors to be reproduced at the printing device. The printing device receives a test chart with color patches for the spot colors. Measurement data is captured from the color patches of the test chart. Using the measurement data, the order management system confirms whether the printing device can reproduce the spot colors according to a required level of tolerance or quality level.
Display control apparatus and computer program
A display control apparatus is configured to display on a display unit a user interface screen for an image data generating apparatus configured to generate image data using an image sensor. The display control apparatus includes a setting acquiring unit which is configured to acquire a setting value for generating the image data, a display determining unit which is configured to determine whether to display an update reception screen based on the acquired setting value, a display control unit which is configured to display the update reception screen on the display unit if the display determining unit determines to display the update reception screen, and is configured not to display the update reception screen on the display unit if the display determining unit determines not to display the update reception screen, and an instruction receiving unit which is configured to receive the update instruction through the update reception screen.
IMAGE FORMING DEVICE
An image forming device is provided, including a generation part, a determination part and a printing part. The generation part generates a plurality of types of binarized image data with respect to original image data. The determination part determines the binarized image data, in which an error between each of the plurality of the types of the binarized image data and the original image data is smaller, among the plurality of the types of the binarized image data. The printing part prints the binarized image data determined by the determination part on a medium.
Electronic device and method of checking connected state of signal line thereof
An electronic device that checks a connected state of a signal line is provided. The electronic device includes a controller configured to transmit a check signal and at least one module configured to include a closed loop and receive the check signal. When the controller receives the check signal through the closed loop, the controller determines that the at least one module is connected to the controller.
Image evaluation device, image evaluation method and program storage medium
An image evaluation device includes: a reading unit that reads a sample image included in a sample printout recognized as a non-defective printout and that reads an inspection object image included in an inspection object printout obtained by printing an image corresponding to the sample image on a recording medium using a printing device based on image data representing the image; an extraction unit that extracts a line defect including a linear pattern formed in a specific direction from the inspection object image represented by inspection object image data, based on a difference value between sample image data obtained by reading the sample image and the inspection object image data; and an evaluation unit that evaluates a visibility of the line defect extracted by the extraction unit.
DETERMINING ALIGNMENT USING FIDUCIALS
A print apparatus is disclosed. In some examples, the print apparatus comprises a print head to deposit print agent onto a substrate; a detector to detect a fiducial; a first light source to back-illuminate the substrate, such that light from the first light source is to be detected by the detector through the substrate; and processing apparatus. The processing apparatus is to operate the print head to deposit print agent to form a first fiducial on a first side of the substrate, the first fiducial comprising a shape of a first colour and having a first dimension, and a background of print agent of a second, different colour, wherein the first dimension of the shape does not exceed a corresponding dimension of the background; operate the print head to deposit print agent to form a second fiducial on a second, opposite side of the substrate, the second fiducial comprising an inverted version of the shape of the first colour; operate the first light source to back-illuminate the substrate; operate the detector to detect the first and second fiducials; and determine whether the first fiducial is aligned with the second fiducial. A method and a machine-readable medium are also disclosed.
DETERMINING PRINT QUALITY BASED ON INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM RENDERED IMAGE
An example image forming apparatus includes an image forming apparatus, a processor, and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor. The processor of the image forming apparatus executes the instructions to render a print job, obtain information regarding a pattern for determining print quality from a rendered image of the print job, scan, through the image forming job unit, a document on which the rendered image is printed, and determine the print quality based on a scanned image of the document and the obtained information regarding the pattern.
Image forming apparatus which accepts multiple types of test sheets for calibration of image density and geometric characteristics
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form an image, a conveying unit configured to convey a sheet on which the image is formed, a reader configured to read the sheet conveyed by the conveying unit and a controller. The controller is configured to execute first calibration in which a density of an image to be formed by the image forming unit is controlled based on a result of reading by the reader, and execute second calibration in which a geometric characteristic of an image to be formed by the image forming unit is controlled based on a result of reading by the reader. The controller allows usage of a sheet of a first type in the first type of calibration, wherein the controller prevents usage of a sheet of a second type in the first type of calibration.
System, apparatus and computer program product for detecting image defects based on angles of respective vectors of a plurality of pixels and reference colors
An image forming system includes: a reading unit configured to read a test image, the test image having a determination image formed by overlapping a plurality of colors and a plurality of reference images formed with each of a plurality of reference colors; and a determination unit configured to determine a first color value of each of the plurality of reference colors based on a reading result of the reference images, determine a second color value of a plurality of pixels included in the determination image based on a reading result of the determination image, and determine whether an image defect has occurred based on an angle of a second vector corresponding to the second color value of the plurality of pixels with respect to a first vector corresponding to the first color value of each of the plurality of reference colors.
