An image reading apparatus, having a placement table, a reader to read an image recorded on the recordable medium placed on the placement table while moving in one direction, a memory storing information concerning a test pattern, and a controller, is provided. The controller is configured to, when instructed to read the test pattern, control the reader to stop reading to pause before reading the test pattern completely, while the reader pauses, based on read data generated from an outcome of reading of the test pattern so far and the information concerning the test pattern, determine whether the read data satisfies a predetermined condition, and when the read data satisfies the predetermined condition, control the reader to resume reading the test pattern, but when the read data does not satisfy the predetermined condition, control the reader to abort reading the test pattern and output an error alerting signal.
Image inspection method and apparatus, and ink jet printing apparatus
Provided are image inspection method and apparatus, and an ink jet printing apparatus that can highly accurately detect a stripe defect. An inspection image obtained by an imaging device imaging a printed matter printed by an ink jet printing apparatus including a line head is acquired. Each of at least one non-scanning direction linear structural element that is a linear structural element in a direction not parallel to a direction of scanning by the line head relative to a medium is used to execute morphology processing of a grayscale image to thereby smooth the inspection image to create a first smoothed inspection image (S22, S24). A stripe defect extending in the scanning direction is detected by using at least (1) one of the inspection image and a second smoothed inspection image created based on the inspection image and (2) the first smoothed inspection image.
Image diagnostic device, failure diagnostic apparatus, and diagnostic method
An image diagnostic device comprising circuitry configured to output a diagnostic chart for image defect detection, read a predetermined reading range of the diagnostic chart, output a read image based on reading of the predetermined reading range, detect an image defect in the diagnostic chart based on the read image, and determine whether the image defect is at an end of the read image. In response to a determination that the image defect is at the end of the read image, the circuitry controls rereading to read a rereading range of the diagnostic chart different from the predetermined reading range.
Display control apparatus and computer program
A display control apparatus is configured to display on a display unit a user interface screen for an image data generating apparatus configured to generate image data using an image sensor. The display control apparatus includes a setting acquiring unit which is configured to acquire a setting value for generating the image data, a display determining unit which is configured to determine whether to display an update reception screen based on the acquired setting value, a display control unit which is configured to display the update reception screen on the display unit if the display determining unit determines to display the update reception screen, and is configured not to display the update reception screen on the display unit if the display determining unit determines not to display the update reception screen, and an instruction receiving unit which is configured to receive the update instruction through the update reception screen.
Inspection system, inspection method, and inspection program
An inspection system includes: an inspection part that compares a scanned image obtained by scanning a sheet on which an image is formed on the basis of a job with a reference image prepared in advance and thereby performs inspection of the scanned image; and a hardware processor that sets an inspection target page to be a target of inspection and a non-inspection target page to be excluded from inspection, for the job, wherein the hardware processor causes the inspection part to perform inspection for the inspection target page and not to perform inspection for the non-inspection target page on the basis of the setting of the hardware processor, and the hardware processor creates an inspection report including scanned images of all pages of the job including the non-inspection target page.
System And Method For Handling Variations In A Printed Mark
The embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a system (100) for handling variations in a mark (110) printed by a group (105) of industrial printers (101). The system (100) obtains images of the printed mark (110) printed by each of the printers (101) in the group (105). The system (100) creates a composite image from the obtained images. The printed marks (110) appear as a repeating pattern in the composite image. The system (100) compares the printed marks (110) in the composite image to each other or to another mark. The system (100) detects variations with a first resolution in the printed marks (110) in the composite image as a result of the comparison. The system (100) creates an augmented image in which the detected variations are augmented to a second resolution. The first resolution is lower than the second resolution.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND COMPUTER READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM
An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming section; an image reading sensor and a colorimeter; a temperature sensor; a memory that stores a first color value and a second color value in a first color chart that has a larger number of patches than a second color chart; a processor that creates a scanner profile for converting a first color value into a second color value using color values obtained by the image reading sensor and the colorimeter, corrects the scanner profile according to the color values obtained by the image reading sensor and the colorimeter, and converts the first color value into the second color value using the corrected scanner profile.
Chart creation method, control apparatus and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing chart creation control program
A chart creation method to be used in a system including an image forming apparatus and a control apparatus, the control apparatus and a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a chart creation control program are provided. The chart creation method includes: creating a print image of a chart; giving instructions to the image forming apparatus to print the chart and measure colors of the chart; obtaining measured color values of the color patches of the chart from the image forming apparatus; and rearranging the color patches of the chart so as to restrict spread of average color values of subgroups of color patches in the chart within a predetermined range. The chart creation method further includes: creating a print image of the color chart including the rearranged color patches, and giving instructions to the image forming apparatus to print the chart and measure colors of the chart.
COLOR CALIBRATION
Example implementations relate to color compensation. Some examples may print a calibration target background on a non-opaque media. The calibration target background may have a color that increases a dynamic range of a set of color measurements of a calibration target foreground. Some examples may print the calibration target foreground over the calibration target background. Additionally, some examples may measure an optical density of the calibration target foreground with a reflective sensor and may calibrate a printer based on the measured optical density.
