Provided is an image control apparatus that includes a hardware processor. The hardware processor obtains read image data generated by reading an image formed on a sheet, sets read proof image data generated by reading a proof image formed on a sheet in a proof output as first correct image data, sets input image data as second correct image data, determines which one of the first correct image data and the second correct image data is used as correct image data in an image check for each page, and performs the image check by comparing the read image data obtained by the hardware processor with the first correct image data or the second correct image data determined as the correct image data by the hardware processor.

Systems and methods are provided for evaluation of a print verification system. One embodiment is a print system that includes a printer, a virtual printer, a print verification system, and a print server. The print server is configured to initiate an evaluation of the print verification system by providing a defective version of a print job to one of the printer and the virtual printer and providing a non-defective version of the print job to the other one of the printer and the virtual printer. The print server verifies functionality of the print verification system based on whether the print verification system detects the defects via comparison of the printed output of the print job by the printer against the bitmap image output of the print job by the virtual printer.

The reading device includes an image reading device configured to read an image on a recording medium being conveyed, a background device serving as a background image when the image is read by the image reading device, and a foreign-object detector configured to compare a first read image obtained as the background device is read by the image reading device with a second read image obtained as the background device and the recording medium are read by the image reading device to detect an attached foreign object. The image forming apparatus includes the reading device and an image forming device.

An image forming device includes an image reader that reads an image of a first original; a printing unit that prints an image read by the image reader on a recording medium; a touch panel; and a first controller that calculates, based on the image read by the image reader and a set print setting, a first required time period required to form the image of the first original, calculates, based on the first required time period, a second required time period required to form an image of a second original read by the image reader and added to the first original, calculates, based on the first required time period and the second required time period, a completion period for completing the printing by the printing unit, and displays on the touch panel the calculated completion period.

An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit configured to form an image; a transfer circuit configured to generate a transfer voltage, and supply the transfer voltage to transfer roller for transferring the image onto a sheet; a door provided to a mounting portion onto which the image forming unit is mounted; a sensor configured to detect an open/closed state of the door; an interlock switch configured to interrupt voltage to be supplied to the transfer circuit, in a case where the sensor detects an open state in which the door is opened; and a controller configured to: determine whether a failure has occurred or not based on a detection result of the sensor and a supplying/interrupting state of the voltage of the interlock switch; and determine, in a case where determining that the failure has occurred, which of the sensor and the interlock switch is failed.

An image recording device stores correspondence information associating a plurality of status information types, output determination information and request type information. The status information is related to at least one of information on a cartridge and information corresponding to operation of a printing head. The output determination information corresponds to usage type information. The request type information is used to determine a type of a person requesting the status information. A controller of the image recording device is configured to perform receiving an output request of output of the status information, determining a type of the request type information, and identifying the status information of which type is associated with the determined request type information and the output determination information based on the correspondence information from among a plurality of types of the status information.

Features for analyzing one or more images with image recognition to detect bounds to accurately convert physical text (e.g., pilot logbooks, aviation-related documents, journey logbooks, aircraft mechanics work orders, airframe logbooks, propeller logbooks, and engine logbooks) into digital format. Based on the predefined bounds, character recognition, e.g., OCR/ICR/ICR engine(s), may be used to convert each cell to a digital format. A decision engine determines, based on reinforcement learning data, the correct value of each cell based on a confidence of the character recognition. The decision engine may be a series of logical filtering, sorting, context rules (e.g., REGEX rules for specific columns) and suggestions based on the reinforcement learning model used to normalize the imperfections associated with the character recognition technologies. The final result is a serialized digital format that can be exported to an endpoint (e.g., spreadsheets, database, etc.).

An image forming apparatus having a voice notification function of giving a voice notification to a user includes a first setting unit configured to set whether to enable the voice notification function of notifying the user of an operation result of the image forming apparatus in a case where the operation result is normal, and a second setting unit configured to set whether to enable the voice notification function relating to the operation result of the image forming apparatus in a case where the operation result is an error.
