20240106950 · 2024-03-28 ·

An object is to provide a technique allowing photographed data acquired by a camera to be converted properly to an image having a resolution necessary for inspection. An imaging device includes a camera, an image data output unit, and an external output signal generator. The camera outputs photographed data obtained by photographing an image on the basis of a camera output signal generated with a constant period. The image is printed on a printing medium transported in a transport direction X. The image data output unit outputs image data based on the photographed data to an inspection device. The external output signal generator generates an external output signal indicating timing of output of the image data by the image data output unit. The image data output unit calculates a weighted average of several pieces of photographed data stored in a buffer while giving respective weights responsive to a time gap between the camera output signal and the external output signal to the several pieces of photographed data.

Provided are an image processing method and an image processing device which can generate second print image data for recording an optimum image based on information from an image of a first print, and a printing method and a print output system which output a second print in which the optimum image is recorded.

An image processing method includes an acquisition step of acquiring first print image data from a first print having first and second regions, a determination step of determining image processing to be applied, based on information acquired from at least one region, and a generation step of generating second print image data for outputting a second print having a third region corresponding to the first region by performing the image processing on the first print image data.

METHODS AND SYSTEM FOR IMAGING OF MOVING PRINTED MATERIALS

A system for capturing images during production of printed material includes an optical device comprising a plurality of cameras arranged in an array with adjacent pairs of cameras having overlapping fields of view. An imaging controller device determines a layout of content on printed material, and determines, based on the layout, an optical system configuration profile. Determining the optical system configuration profile includes selecting one or more cameras for capturing images of regions of interest on the printed material and determining a trigger interval for triggering the selected one or more cameras. The imaging controller device triggers the selected cameras at times determined based on the trigger interval to capture images of the regions of interest on the printed material as the printed material moves in fields of view of the one or more cameras during production of the printed material.

Image capture using multiple illumination sources

This disclosure provides a self-contained imaging device that takes digital photographs of portions of documents (such as photos or photo albums) instead of scanning those images. The imaging device uses a lens to zoom in on specific portions of the document that represent images that are to be digitized. Generally speaking, disclosed embodiments utilize a physical device having a housing, a location for retaining or holding an image to be imaged, such as a platen or image conveyance mechanism, a light source and the imaging system (which can be a digital camera). The disclosed device camera provides a low-cost mechanism that can at-once capture a high resolution image without the delays associated with most scanners.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DIGITIZING PAPER RECEIPTS

A system and method for concurrent scanning of individual documents includes an intelligent controller having a processor and memory and a scanner that generates an electronic image from a group of hard copy receipts disposed on its platen, face down in any orientation such that there is a spacing between them. The platen receives a plurality separated paper receipts on its surface and the controller generates a contiguous area mask corresponding to a perimeter of each of the receipts. The controller then generates a unique image file corresponding to a surface image of each of the receipts in accordance with this mask. Image files for the receipts are placed through optical character recognition and the resulting character data is used to orient each corresponding receipt image. Character information is also used to generate expense reports.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD FOR CREATING IMAGE INFORMATION

An image forming apparatus according to an embodiment includes an authentication unit, an acquisition unit, an image capturing unit, and a creation unit. The authentication unit authenticates a user. The acquisition unit acquires user information of the user whose authentication is successful from a server that manages the user information using the authentication unit. The image capturing unit captures an image of the user. The creation unit creates image information in which the image of the user obtained by capturing an image using the image capturing unit and the user information acquired by the acquisition unit are represented on a card.

Integrated physical warehouse and digital document management system

A document management facility may process volumes of physical documents for digital imaging. The document management facility may utilize robotic apparatus to perform the various functions for processing the documents, which may include document intake, document storage, document digitization, and/or document removal. Digital versions of the documents may be accessed with a document management system.

A photographic image extraction apparatus according to the invention is applied to a smartphone. The smartphone includes an image capture unit that captures images of a plurality of photographs, a photographic image extraction unit that analyzes a plurality of photographic images that are the captured images of the plurality of photographs and extracts, from the plurality of photographic images, one or more photographic images having a high likelihood of containing an image of a specific person, and an extraction result display unit that displays a result of extraction by the photographic image extraction unit.

Image processing method and scanning system using the same

A scanning system comprises a scanning device and a computing device. The scanning device scans an object to produce an original image, wherein the original image contains a plurality of colors. The computing device is electrically connected to the scanning device and performs an image processing method including steps: receiving the original image generated by the scanning device; specifying a number of the plurality of layers; assigning each color of the original image to one of the plurality of layers; determining a height of each layer; and mapping the height of each layer to the original image based on each color contained by each layer to produce a height image.
