A method of controlling a communication terminal including a near-field communication unit includes setting, as operation settings of the communication terminal, whether to enable wireless communication functions by the near-field communication unit and controlling to display a predetermined notification before displaying a screen for performing a login request upon condition that a user operation to transition to a screen for performing a login request to an external device has been received, and that settings have not been made in the setting of the communication terminal at least to enable wireless communication functions by the near-field communication unit as operation settings of the communication terminal.

The method and system allow a user to launch a client application on an web-enabled device and subsequently to navigate to an image source screen within the client application. After receiving an image source selection from the user, the client application retrieves images from the selected image source. The client application displays the retrieved images available for printing to a user, and in response to receiving a selection of an image, the client application transmits the image to a proprietary server. Moreover, upon receiving print order information, the client application additionally executes a location awareness application that determines a current location of the web-enabled device and subsequently, determines a proximal retail store to the current location of the web-enabled device. Thereafter, the remote printing system creates and transmits a print order that includes the selected image to the retail store for pickup.

The invention includes a print terminal that prints input image data and outputs the input image data as a print image, and an image storage server that is connected to the print terminal via a public network, and that stores the image data sent from the print terminal and user identification information. The print terminal creates, out of the print image, user identification information based on photographing location information and photographing date/time information included as data in a user identification information image specified by the user. In a case where the print terminal receives a re-input of image data of the user identification information image, the print terminal resends user identification information to the image storage server. In a case where an image directory including the resent user identification information internally exists, the image storage server sends the image data in the image directory to the print terminal.

A system and method hosts entity-specific photo-sharing websites for entity-specific image capture devices. The system and method provides software for the entity-specific image capture devices that causes the image capture devices to transmit entity ID information when the image capture devices transmit images over the Internet. The system and method further provide an online photosharing service capable of hosting the entity-specific photo-sharing websites for each of the entities, such that when the image capture devices connect to photo-sharing service, the photo-sharing service uses the entity ID received from the image capture devices to automatically associate the image with the photo-sharing websites of the identified entity.

An information processing device includes: a storage that stores data; and a hardware processor. The hardware processor: receives the data and stores the data in the storage; checks the data for viruses when the data is received; sends the data stored in the storage to an external device; determines whether the data has been checked for viruses when the data is sent to the external device; and adds, upon determining that the data has been checked for viruses, checked information to the data to be sent.

An information processing system for monitoring a system. An embodiment of the present invention is a system (and concomitant methods and computer software embodied in non-transitory computer readable media) providing prioritized information and several extensions. These extensions include improved information flow between actors that participate in monitoring the system. These actors each have a model of its environment and may include either human operators, computational or software systems, or hardware systems that can act on information; for example, a pilot flying, a pilot monitoring, an aircraft itself, and responses taken and electronics readings therein. Components of the system comprise a metadata workbench, an information source, a condition monitor, and a notification terminal.

In a case where a recording medium having a communication function is used for a digital still camera, noise may be generated and superposed on data to be recorded if data transmission is performed in imaging. On the other hand, in a case where data is transmitted in response to a user's request from an external apparatus, communication interruption degrades usability. The digital still camera obtains a product name of the recording medium from the recording medium so as to specify a transmission mode. If an automatic transmission mode for spontaneously performing data transmission is specified, data transmission is interrupted when imaging instruction is issued and furthermore the communication function of the recording medium may be disabled. On the other hand, if a manual transmission mode for performing data transmission in response to a request is specified, a communication state is maintained even if an imaging instruction is issued.

A display apparatus transmits a picture acquisition request for getting picture information to an external image apparatus connected through a predetermined interface to the display apparatus from the external image apparatus at predetermined intervals and gets a plurality of pieces of picture information from the external image apparatus to be displayed. The plurality of pictures may be switched at predetermined intervals, for example, to be displayed, so that the plurality of pictures may be displayed in a so-called slide show manner. A plurality of pictures for thumbnail may be produced from the plurality of pieces of picture information and be arranged together to be displayed in one picture screen of a display device.

An electronic device, such as a digital camera, includes a deletion mode whereby a camera/electronic device user can delete captured images or data files that have already been transferred in order to make room in the electronic device or digital camera memory for capturing further images. In one embodiment, a digital camera keeps track of which images have already been transferred to an external storage device and presents those to the user as potential images to be deleted. In another embodiment, the user is presented with a delete all transferred images which when selected deletes all the captured images that have already been transferred. In still another embodiment, deletion criteria are used to prioritize which images are deleted first.
