A photography system includes a remote server to store a database of geofence regions within a geographical area, and themed photograph overlays, with at least one themed photograph overlay corresponding to each respective geofence region within the database. A portable electronic device (PED) includes a processor to execute a creative artworks picture application, a geographic position determining to determine a geographic location of the PED, and a transceiver. The transceiver is configured to transmit the geographic location of the PED to the remote server, and receive the themed photograph overlay from the remote server when the geographic location of the PED is within one of the respective geofence regions. A camera takes a photograph within the geofence region the PED is located in, and a display displays the photograph with the at least one themed photograph overlay.

A system and method for determining and tracking a location of a participant traveling along a route wherein the participant being tracked with an RFID tag using an RFID tag reader and a timing system, the system includes a location device associated with the RFID tag and has a location data receiver for receiving location information from a location providing source, and a wireless communication interface and time stamps each received location information, and transmits tag location data over the wireless interface, and a location detection device that is in wireless communication with the location device receives the transmitted tag location data, and transmits the received location data to the timing system, with the timing system associating the received location data with the RFID tag number as provided by the RFID tag reader provided tag reads of the RFID tag associated with the location device.

A printing system includes an image forming apparatus that accepts a printing instruction from a mobile terminal, sends an inquiry to a server as to whether a printing reservation corresponding to the accepted printing instruction is managed by the server, and transmits connection information to the mobile terminal if the printing reservation is managed by the server. An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of image formers each capable of forming, on a sheet, an overlap image and a non-overlap image, a fixer that fixes, on the sheet, a whole image composed of the overlap images and the non-overlap images, and a hardware processor that controls each of the plurality of image formers such that a difference in image at a boundary between the overlap image and the non-overlap image is reduced in the whole image.

Implementations relate to an image grid with selectively prominent images. In some implementations, a computer-implemented method includes identifying a plurality of images, where each image of the plurality of images has a respective importance score. A subset of the images is selected based at least in part on the respective importance score for each image. The method determines respective one or more cells in a grid for occupation by each of the images, where at least one image of the subset is placed in the grid such that it occupies at least two cells in the grid. The method causes the images to be displayed in a user interface on a display screen based on the grid.

The displayed photos are automatically shown and/or changed according to the detected viewers. The photos can be filtered and cropped at the receiver side. Clustering photos by content is used to improve display and to respond to photo viewer desires.
