When updating of the firmware is not completed normally, the image forming device operates a recovery operation by executing a recovery program. The recovery program transmits USB configuration information, which is stored in the memory, to a terminal device when performing USB communication with the terminal device in the recovery operation. Thus, the USB configuration of the normal operation and that of the recovery operation are identical.

A signal processing device includes a data writing unit, a channel number converting unit, and a plurality of serial data transferring unit. The data writing unit is configured to write data of m channels into a memory. The channel number converting unit is configured to output the data read from the memory as data of n channels, where m is larger than n. An image reading device includes a first image reading portion, a cooling portion, a second image reading portion, and a notification processing portion. The first image reading portion reads an image of a document sheet at a first reading position. The cooling portion cools the document sheet at a cooling position downstream in a feeding direction of the document sheet with respect to the first reading position. The second image reading portion reads an image of the document sheet at a second reading position downstream in the feeding direction with respect to the cooling position.
