At least one embodiment of an image processing apparatus is provided for generating data used to form on a recording medium an uneven layer having a plurality of projections, including: a first obtaining unit that obtains first brightness information regarding a brightness of a predetermined area of an object observed in a first viewing direction and regarding a brightness of the predetermined area of the object observed in a second viewing direction, the second viewing direction having an azimuth angle different from an azimuth angle of the first viewing direction; and a first generation unit that generates first recording amount data that indicates a recording amount of recording material used to form the uneven layer on the recording medium, the uneven layer having the projections each having a base in a shape that changes, on a basis of the first brightness information.

An image forming device operates in a first operation when executing a first program and operates in a second operation when executing a second program. A controller of the image forming device transmits first USB configuration information to a terminal device when operated in a first operation and transmit second USB configuration information to the terminal device when operated in a second operation. The image forming device does not communicate with the terminal device when operated in the second operation in a case where the second USB configuration information is not transmitted to the terminal device, and communicates with the terminal device by transmitting the second USB configuration information in a case where operating in the second operation and communicating with the terminal device which receives the first USB configuration information.

There is provided an information processing apparatus that can reliably associate a device driver with an application even without updating the device driver itself. To achieve this, the information processing apparatus is provided with a registration unit capable of registering and updating association information between information for managing a device and a predetermined application regardless of whether a device driver is installed. This allows management by separating installation of a device driver from registration processing of an application.

An image forming apparatus has a communication unit that receives a print job from an execution request source computer, a printing unit that executes the print job, a controller, and a storage. The storage stores route information. The controller identifies the execution request source computer, determines a movement route along which a user moves from the execution request source computer to the image forming apparatus, and sets printing speed of the printing unit lower the longer the determined movement route.

Scanning technology, in which a lift-off signal is generated when an input apparatus is detected as being oriented in a position that is spaced apart from a scan target object. A predetermined threshold time is compared with a continuation time of the received lift-off signal and, when the continuation time of the lift-off signal does not meet the predetermined threshold time, a scanning operation being performed is continued. When the continuation time of the lift-off signal meets the predetermined threshold time, a scanning operation being performed is discontinued.

A client terminal is provided with a print proxy which converts a request from a standard port monitor into a request to a print server and relays the request. This makes it possible to use an extension function between the client terminal and the print server in a system in which only the standard port monitor operates.

A method comprises: acquiring image data in a view area of an imaging apparatus; dividing the view area into sub-view areas; acquiring an attribute information set of at least one object in any one sub-view area through beam scanning; establishing a correspondence between the attribute information set and image data corresponding to the one sub-view area; and acquiring, in response to that the attribute information set comprises attribute information of multiple objects, distance related information between the multiple objects and a beam emitting position. An accurate correspondence can be established between an object in a view area of an imaging apparatus and attribute information of the object, and with multiple objects, distance related information between the objects and a beam emitting position is acquired, which helps to further determine a correspondence between each object and corresponding attribute information.

A control device includes a second sub-controller to which second devices are connected, a first sub-controller to which first devices are connected, a master controller that controls the first and second sub-controllers, and so on. The second sub-controller includes a second interruption information memory that stores second interruption information output from the second devices, and a second interruption controller that transmits an interruption signal upon storing of the second interruption information in the second interruption information memory, and reads and transmits the second interruption information. The first sub-controller includes a first interruption information memory that stores first interruption information output from the first devices, and the second interruption information transmitted from the second sub-controller, and a first interruption controller that transmits the interruption signal received from the second sub-controller, and reads and transmits the first interruption information and the second interruption information stored in the first interruption information memory.

An apparatus for selectively applying settings for each of items set in a first processing device to a second processing device is provided. The settings for each of the items are indicated in each file, and the file is dividable into sets of separate data having a predetermined size or smaller. The apparatus includes a user interface configured to allow a user to choose target separate data from among the sets of separate data of each of the files; a selection portion configured to set, at selected data, the sets of separate data of a file having the target separate data among the files; and an application processing portion configured to perform application processing for applying the settings to the second processing device by using, among the sets of separate data of each of the files, the sets of separate data set at the selected data.

An image forming apparatus has a communication unit that receives a print job from an execution request source computer, a printing unit that executes the print job, a controller, and a storage. The storage stores route information. The controller identifies the execution request source computer, determines a movement route along which a user moves from the execution request source computer to the image forming apparatus, and sets printing speed of the printing unit lower the longer the determined movement route.
