Mobile phones and other portable devices are equipped with a variety of technologies by which existing functionality can be improved, and new functionality can be provided. Some aspects relate to visual search capabilities, and determining appropriate actions responsive to different image inputs. Others relate to processing of image data. Still others concern metadata generation, processing, and representation. Yet others concern user interface improvements. Other aspects relate to imaging architectures, in which a mobile phone's image sensor is one in a chain of stages that successively act on packetized instructions/data, to capture and later process imagery. Still other aspects relate to distribution of processing tasks between the mobile device and remote resources (“the cloud”). Elemental image processing (e.g., simple filtering and edge detection) can be performed on the mobile phone, while other operations can be referred out to remote service providers. The remote service providers can be selected using techniques such as reverse auctions, through which they compete for processing tasks. Provided is a printing device that can accurately perform printing on a recording medium. The printing device includes: a frame member disposed to surround a nail tip; a printing unit configured to perform printing on the nail tip surrounded by the frame member; a communication part configured to acquire print information which is generated based on an image obtained by capturing the frame member and the nail tip and indicates a layout of printing to be applied to the nail tip in a printable region defined by the frame member; and a print control part configured to control the printing unit based on the acquired print information.

An image processing apparatus may include a processor including a processing unit, a creating unit, and an output unit. The processing unit stores image data created by executing a job in a storage unit. The creating unit creates an information code representing information indicating a storage area of the storage unit in which the image data is stored. A multi-function peripheral as an image processing device according to the present invention is wirelessly connected with a mobile terminal having a display and is capable of accepting an operation by a user via the mobile terminal. A mobile terminal as the information processing apparatus includes a Bluetooth controller that causes a Bluetooth communication section to receive a packet, a CPU that generates a device list, based on the packet, a display section that displays the device list. The CPU selects a device from the device list based on a received radio field intensity of the packet or selects a device from the device list based on a selection operation by a user.
