PRINTER IDENTITY AND SECURITY
A system and method for establishing a secure identity for a printing device at the time of manufacturing is provided. The method includes obtaining a first private key for use with a first operation of the printing device and obtaining a second private key for use with a second operation of the printing device. The method also includes loading the first private key into a secure memory portion of the printing device during manufacturing of the printing device, and loading the second private key into the secure memory portion of the printing device during manufacturing of the printing device.
Information processing apparatus
An information processing apparatus includes: an image reading unit configured to perform image reading; an interface to which an external memory is detachably attached; an input unit configured to receive an instruction of a user; a storage unit configured to store at least one of a reading driver of controlling the image reading unit and a reading driver-command of acquiring the reading driver from an external; and a control unit configured to: receive, from the input unit, a reading instruction of storing the image data, which is acquired by performing image reading, in the external memory attached to the interface, perform, when receiving the reading instruction of storing the image data, a reading driver-data storing process of storing both the image data and one of the reading driver and the reading driver-command in the external memory attached to the interface.
Wearable captured image data relay device
A wearable wireless image data relay device for positioning on a limb of a wearer may include a band configured to at least partially encircle the limb of the wearer; a storage mounted on the band and configured to store image data; and a transceiver mounted on the band and configured to detect wireless transmission of the image data from at least one camera, wirelessly receive the transmission of the image data from the at least one camera to enable storage of the image data within the storage, form a wireless coupling with a receiving device, and in response to formation of the wireless coupling and the storage of the image data within the storage, wirelessly transmit the image data from the storage to the receiving device.
Information processing apparatus, information processing method, and recording medium
An information processing apparatus includes a non-contact antenna that communicates with a communication counterpart via a non-contact communication and circuitry that generates a location guide image indicating a location of the non-contact antenna in the information processing apparatus and the location guide image including an ellipse placed at a portion of a display screen corresponding to the location of the non-contact antenna.
Image forming apparatus having a plurality of ports to which portable memory is attachable, and computer-readable medium and method for the same
An image forming apparatus includes a controller and a memory interface having a plurality of ports each configured to receive a portable memory removably attached thereto. The controller performs a portable memory using process including storing data in a dedicated memory, which is a portable memory set as a storage destination to store the data in the portable memory using process when attached to a dedicated port, and performing a process using the data stored in the dedicated memory in response to an operation received via a user interface. The controller sets, prior to the portable memory using process, one of the plurality of ports as the dedicated port, and provides a notification when determining that a target portable memory is not the dedicated memory but the port to which the target portable memory has been attached is the dedicated port.
Mobile autonomous scalable scanner system
This invention is directed to autonomous document scanning operations. A scanning device and one or more stacks of documents may use motors to autonomously move the documents into position to be scanned by the scanner. The scanning device may detect properties of the documents while scanning. Multiple stacks of documents may be scanned in this manner with minimal user intervention, eliminating the need for manual intervention when scanning groups of documents.
Image forming apparatus
A MFP includes a storage device, a RAM device, and a CPU. The MFP is capable of executing a standard program and an application that is not a standard program. The MFP receives specification of: an application deployment area upper limit as an upper limit of a size of a deployment area of the RAM device in which the application is deployed; and a Java heap upper limit as an upper limit of a size of a processing area of the RAM device that the application uses for a process (S107). The MFP controls starting of the application according to the application deployment area upper limit and the Java heap upper limit, which were specified in S107.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING USER'S EMOTIONAL INFORMATION IN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An apparatus and a method for providing emotional information in an electronic device are provided. At least one content is displayed. Emotional information is extracted from an image obtained via a camera. The emotional information is added to the content.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY TRACKING PRINT HISTORY OF DOCUMENTS STORED ON REMOVABLE STORAGE DEVICE
A method for printing documents includes detecting a trigger event when a portable memory device is communicatively connected to a print device. The print device is in communication with a data store that contains print history identifying one or more files printed using one or more print devices. The method includes receiving an instruction to print a document file stored on the portable memory device, identifying a property associated with the document file, and comparing the property associated with the document file to the print history to determine if a previously printed document in the print history is substantially similar to the document file. If a previously printed document in the print history is substantially similar to the document file, before printing the document causing a user interface to output a prompt that the document file has previously been printed, otherwise causing the print device to print the document.
