PRINTER
A printer includes a cassette or tray for storing a sheet to which a wireless tag is attached, a conveyer configured to convey the sheet for printing, a wireless tag reader/writer configured to read and write information from and to the wireless tag when the sheet is conveyed for printing, a scanner, and a controller configured to: control the scanner to read a symbol, determine whether the symbol indicates an identification code that identifies a type of the sheet, upon determining that the symbol indicates the identification code, acquire parameters used for controlling the conveyer or the reader/writer corresponding to the type of the sheet, and control the conveyer and the reader/writer using the parameters when printing is performed on the sheet.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD
An information processing apparatus includes a first communication unit configured to communicate with a first communication apparatus; a second communication unit configured to wirelessly communicate with each of one or more second wireless communication apparatuses; an acquisition unit configured to acquire from the first communication apparatus via the first communication unit an apparatus ID that is held by the first communication apparatus and that is used for identifying one of the one or more second wireless communication apparatuses to or from which the second communication unit transmits or receives data; and a control unit configured to control the second communication unit to transmit or receive the data to or from the one of the one or more second wireless communication apparatuses that is identified by the apparatus ID acquired by the acquisition unit.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An image forming apparatus controls at least one proximity communication device in such a manner that an external apparatus is not capable of reading information from the at least one proximity communication device during a period in which power supply to the at least one proximity communication device is stopped.
GENOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL BLOCKCHAIN SENSORS
A system is described to create customized unique identification (UID) codes combined with customized printable optical or NFC sensors and to combine these unique sensors and unique IDs with unique environmental events, traceability, unique data from cell phones (including geolocation) and person-specific unique indicators such as biomarkers to create completely unique, low cost and proprietary printable genomic and environmental blockchain sensor networks for the Internet of Things (IoT), counterfeit identification, healthcare, pharmaceutical applications and small payment transactions worldwide.
Wearable apparatus and methods for causing a paired device to execute selected functions
A wearable apparatus is provided for capturing and processing images from an environment of a user. In one implementation, the wearable apparatus is used for causing a device paired to the wearable apparatus to execute a selected function. The wearable apparatus includes an image capture device, a transmitter and at least one processing device. The at least one processing device is programmed to obtain images captured by the image capture device; analyze the images to detect a contextual situation associated with images; based on the detected contextual situation, associate with the at least one image a category tag, wherein the category tag is associated with a selected function; determine image-related information associated with the detected contextual situation; and cause the transmitter to transmit the determined image-related information to the paired device to cause the paired device to execute the selected function based on the determined image-related information.
MULTI-FUNCTION PRINTER AND A METHOD OF OPERATING THEREOF
A Multi-Function Printer and a method of operating a Multi-Functional printer are described. The Multi-Function printer includes a plurality of RFID sensors, a RFID Reader, a memory and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory. Each of the plurality of RFID sensors transmits a tag identifier to the processor via the RFID reader. The processor then generates encrypted unique codes and transmits to each of the plurality of RFID sensors through the RFID reader. When a user swipes the RFID sensors, the encrypted unique codes from the activated RFID sensors are transmitted to the processor through the RFID reader. The processor decrypts the codes and compares whether the decrypted codes are same as prestored unique codes. Based on the comparison, the processor performs a function on a Multi-Function Printer.
READING DEVICE
A reading device includes a housing, an imaging unit, a reading lighting unit, a guiding unit, and a guiding lighting unit. The housing has an opening covered with a transparent opening cover. An imaging unit is disposed inside the housing. The reading lighting unit illuminates the opening cover from inside the housing. The guiding unit is provided on the same plane as the opening cover at a position separated from the opening cover. The guiding lighting unit emits light from the guiding unit to the outside of the housing.
Medical labeling system and method of use
A labeling system for creating labels for medicine containers. The system includes a label printer having an interior area configured to carry a plurality of printing sheets therein; a scanner in data communication with the label printer, the scanner having a reader to scan a drug administer barcode and a drug barcode; and a label sheet printed by the label printer, the label sheet having a plurality of labels adhesively bonded thereto, the label printer being configured to print onto the plurality of labels data information scanned from the administrator barcode and the drug barcode. The label sheet includes a first section for a drug name; a second section for a dosage; a third section for a time and a date; and a fourth section for information related to the drug administer.
Security management apparatus
A security management apparatus includes a receiver, a printer, and a notifier. The receiver acquires, at an entrance of a facility, information about a visitor to a visiting destination of the facility. The information includes a stay permitted time at the visiting destination and at least one of an attribute, relation information, or a visiting purpose. The printer generates a portable medium that includes the information and the stay permitted time and records an image allowing distinguishing of content of the information. The notifier is configured to receive the stay permitted time from one or more readers disposed at the facility and is configured to read the stay permitted time from the portable medium in a noncontact manner. The notifier, in response to the stay permitted time being elapsed, warns the visitor who passes a disposition position of the one or more readers.
Information processing apparatus configured to communicate with and log into an external device, control method therefor, and storage medium
An information processing apparatus transmits a login request for logging into an external device to the external device, based on a short-range wireless communication being established between the information processing apparatus and the external device in a state where an application is operating in a background state on the information processing apparatus.
