A switch operation erroneous-detection avoidance device includes: an execution control unit that if a prescribed device executes a prescribed process with a portable object when an operation switch transits from a pressed state to an unpressed state, prohibits execution of a process associated with the operation switch and if the prescribed device does not execute the prescribed process with the portable object when the operation switch transits from the pressed state to the unpressed state, permits the execution of the process associated with the operation switch.

An image forming apparatus includes an image former that selectively executes the same type of image formation in different modes, start key for each of the modes that receives a job start instruction for that mode of image formation, and an operation panel on which the start keys are arranged. One of the start keys and another of the start keys are arranged obliquely rather than vertically or horizontally when a user directly faces the operation panel.

In accordance with an embodiment, an image reading apparatus sets a scan speed corresponding to an operating speed input by the operation panel. The image reading apparatus executes a scan job at the set scan speed. A system, method, and apparatus provide brightness enhancement for digital displays. The digital display of an electronic apparatus may be augmented with an E-Ink based display module. Embodiments may replicate the content of the digital display shown on the E-Ink module display. The content is shown in a high contrast output that is readable even though the ambient light intensity may overwhelm the readability of the original digital display. Some embodiments include a clock which may trigger automatic operation of the E-Ink module. Some embodiments may include a transparent E-Ink module which may show replicated content obscuring the view an underlying digital display or which may remain transparent when the digital display is readable under the current light.

According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus, comprises a document feeder to feed a document page by page, a scanner to scan the document fed by the document feeder and generate image data of the document, a printing apparatus to print images on recording media. An interface is configured to receive print settings and a test printing command. A controller is configured to control the document feeder to feed pages of the document according to the print settings when the test printing command is received, acquire image data of the pages of the document fed by the document feeder, and control the printing apparatus to print images in a test printing. The images in the test printing comprising image data of the pages of the document fed by the document feeder.

The present invention provides an information processing apparatus having a display unit that displays a screen on which a pointing tool corresponding to a function is disposed. The information processing apparatus obtains a display language of the screen and obtains a language of the pointing tool, and in a case where the display language differs from the language, displays, on the display unit, a confirmation screen for confirming with a user whether to execute the function corresponding to the pointing tool in response to an instruction given by the user via the pointing tool.
