A display device, method, computer-readable storage medium and user interface, each of which detects contact to or proximity of an object with respect to a generated image, and responsive to detection of contact to or proximity of the object to the generated image, disables any operational functions associated with a first portion of the generated image. Additionally, operation associated with a second portion of the generated image is allowed responsive to the detection of contact to or proximity of the object to the generated image, where the second portion of the generated image is different from the first portion of the generated image. An indication corresponding to the second portion of the generated image for which operation is enabled may be displayed on the generated image.

An information processing system includes an information processing apparatus and a server. A acquisition unit of the apparatus acquires a first screen. A display unit of the apparatus displays the first screen. When a button to which an instruction is attached is pressed, a determination request information transmission unit of the apparatus transmits, to the server, determination request information requesting a validity determination to determine whether the application associated with the instruction can be used in the information processing apparatus. A display device includes a display section, an operation section, and a controller. The display section displays a screen. The operation section receives a first operation by which a display target area of the screen is changed. The controller changes the display target area of the screen in response to the operation section receiving the first operation. The screen includes an object. The object receives a second operation by which the display target area of the screen is changed. In response to the operation section receiving the first operation, the controller causes the object not to be displayed or increases a transparency of the object.

An example image forming apparatus includes a user interface device, an image forming job operator, a processor, and a memory. The processor executes instructions to display a preview screen of a document through the user interface device, perform an embedding process of embedding user-specific information into a plurality of user-specific information input areas included in the document, display state information of the plurality of user-specific information input areas on the preview screen in synchronization with progress of the embedding process, and, when the embedding process is completed, perform an image forming job with respect to the document in which the user-specific information is embedded, through the image forming job operator.

A display input apparatus includes a display device, an operation device, and a control device. When, with a first page containing an arrangement of icons being displayed on the display device, the control device detects through the operation device a predetermined first operation of selecting a plurality of icons from the arrangement of icons on the first page and grouping the plurality of selected icons, the control device generates a group icon into which the plurality of icons are consolidated and allows the display device to display the group icon on the first page. An image forming apparatus includes a network interface, an operation panel including a touch panel, and a controller configured to provide a mobile input function to a mobile terminal via the network interface. The mobile input function enables the image forming apparatus to accept input operations from the mobile terminal via the network interface. The controller displays access information on the touch panel when the mobile input function is not provided, and starts providing the mobile input function in response to receiving access from the mobile terminal using the access information via the network interface. After starting to provide the mobile input function, the controller sends display data to the mobile terminal via the network interface, thereby causing the mobile terminal to display an operation screen for operating the image forming apparatus from the mobile terminal.
