An operation input device accepts non-contact operation on an operation image with a pointer. The operation input device includes a display panel and a sensing portion. The sensing portion outputs a first output value and a second output value. If a first operation image, which is an operation image corresponding to the second output value observed when the first output value is equal to a first reference value, and a second operation image, which is an operation image corresponding to the second output value observed when the first output value is equal to a second reference, differ, the display panel displays the first and second operation images with highlighting.

An image forming apparatus includes a display, a capacitive touch panel, a transporter, an image forming unit, a power supplier, the touch panel, the transporter, and the image forming unit, and a controller, the touch panel, the transporter, the image forming unit, and the power supplier, wherein the controller is configured to control a first mode in which the power supplier is controlled so that power is supplied to the display, the touch panel, the transporter, and, the image forming unit and a second mode in which the power supplier is controlled so that a power supply to the display, the transporter, and the image forming unit is restricted and power is supplied to the touch panel, and wherein an amount of power supplied to the touch panel in the second mode is smaller than an amount of power supplied to the touch panel in the first mode.

An apparatus includes, among other components, a frame adapted to be connected to the exterior surface of a device that has a touchscreen. A retractable cover is operatively connected to the frame. The size of the retractable cover is equal to at least the size of the touchscreen, and the retractable cover is positioned to extend so as to cover the touchscreen. At least one ultraviolet light is also operatively connected to the frame. The ultraviolet light is positioned to direct ultraviolet lighting toward the touchscreen when the retractable cover extends to cover the touchscreen.

An image processing apparatus capable of lowering the possibility that app buttons on an app selection screen will be rearranged in a way that is not intended by a user. The image forming apparatus 100 displays a plurality of app buttons for executing respective apps on a plurality of pages of an app selection screen 400 in a dividing manner, and has a structure that switches between the pages of the app selection screen 400 in response to a page switching operation by a user, and changes a display order of the app buttons when a button prioritizing event that is a condition for preferentially displaying at least one of the app buttons is detected. When the button prioritizing event is detected after the page switching operation is performed, the app buttons is not rearranged and the app selection screen is kept unchanged.

An image forming apparatus includes a printing section, an electrostatic touch panel, a power source circuit section, and a contact member. The printing section performs printing. The electrostatic touch panel receives a touch operation by a user. The power source circuit section receives supply of power from a commercial power source and supplies power to the printing section and the electrostatic touch panel. The contact member is connected to a ground of an image forming apparatus and is touched by a user operating the electrostatic touch panel.

An electronic apparatus is provided with a display unit displaying a software keyboard and an input unit receiving user operation including key input to the software keyboard. A display control unit performs display change processing for changing at least one of the position and shape of the software keyboard and the arrangement and color scheme of each key included in the software keyboard every time the input unit receives an arbitrary number of key inputs.

In an image forming apparatus, a controller makes a determination of whether or not a person present around the image forming apparatus has been detected by a motion sensor, makes a determination of whether or not a touch gesture has been made on a touch panel, counts, based on results of the determinations, a number of users of the image forming apparatus, a number of touch gestures on the touch panel or an elapsed time since a latest touch gesture on the touch panel, and allows a display device to display the number of users, the number of touch gestures or the elapsed time.

Techniques to selectively capture media using a single user interface element are described. In one embodiment, an apparatus may comprise a touch controller, a visual media capture component, and a storage component. The touch controller may be operative to receive a haptic engagement signal. The visual media capture component may be operative to be configured in a capture mode based on whether a haptic disengagement signal is received by the touch controller before expiration of a first timer, the capture mode one of a photo capture mode or video capture mode, the first timer started in response to receiving the haptic engagement signal, the first timer configured to expire after a first preset duration. The storage component may be operative to store visual media captured by the visual media capture component in the configured capture mode. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
