The receiving apparatus includes a second facsimile receiving section, a second voice-information communication section that receives the first voice information, and a second control section. The second control section permits or rejects reception of the image information from the transmitting apparatus via the second facsimile receiving section based on a result of authentication of the first user performed based on the received first voice information and second voice information on a user who is permitted in advance to use the receiving apparatus.

An apparatus includes: a display; and a controller that: causes the display to display a plurality of operation items that can be instructed by a user, receives an instruction by a voice operation with respect to at least one of the operation items, and receives an instruction by a manual operation with respect to at least one of the operation items. The display displays a first operation item identifiable from the remaining operation items, and the first operation item can be instructed by a user voice.

An information processing system includes a microphone configured to acquire sound, a display device configured to display information, and at least one controller. The at least one controller is configured to cause the display device to display a first screen at least including one setting item with a set value that can be changed by an instruction, cause the display device to display a second screen including a selection object for transition to the first screen, and acquire text data based on speech acquired through the microphone during display of the second screen and change the set value of the one setting item on the basis of the text data without causing the display device to display the first screen.

According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor and a memory on which are stored machine readable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to access a voice command file pertaining to a data file and to send the voice command file to at least one of a server and a voice services provider, in which the voice services provider is to translate the voice command file to a workflow task message and to send the workflow task message to the server. The instructions may also cause the processor to receive the workflow task message from the server and execute a workflow task on the data file corresponding to the received workflow task message.

According to an embodiment, provided is an information notification system in which a multifunction peripheral including an audio device is associated with external audio devices so that the user of the multifunction peripheral is notified of a message. The information notification system is featured by including a message determiner which determines the contents of the message, a user position detector which detects a position of the user, an output device specifying section which specifies, based on a result of determination by the message determiner and a result of detection by the user position detector, the audio device which outputs the message, and a controller which performs control so that the message is notified from the specified audio device. As the audio device for outputting the message is specified according to the contents of the message, the message is notified from the specified audio device.

A voice information processing apparatus includes: a hardware processor that: receives a user question; acquires answer information responsive to the received question; acquires state information on a user state; and selects an output mode of the answer information from among a plurality of output modes, based on the answer information and the state information, the plurality of output modes including a voice output mode; and an output device that outputs the answer information in the selected output mode.
