A terminal device displays a first screen related to a setting for processing executable by plural models of a device; acquires, from a target device, identification information for the model of the target device through a first communication unit and communication information for communicating with the target device through second communication unit; acquires, from a storing unit, processing information corresponding to the acquired identification information; transmits, to the target device, through the second communication unit, a setting entered through the first screen using communication information. If the processing information acquired through the second communication unit includes information on specific processing executable only by the model corresponding to the identification information, the terminal device further displays a second screen related to a setting for the specific processing, and further transmits the setting entered through the second screen, to the target device through the second communication unit, using the communication information.

An information processing apparatus includes an obtaining unit and a display controller. The obtaining unit obtains identification information for identifying a target device to be used. The display controller controls display of a function that the target device identified by the identification information has and that is available to a target user.

An information processing apparatus includes a controller. If images related to devices that have been identified are superimposed on one another, the controller causes information about one or plural cooperative functions that use functions of the devices to be displayed.

An image forming apparatus includes a display and circuitry that controls the display to display multiple display components corresponding to multiple setting items, accepts a setting value for a first setting item through corresponding one of the multiple display components, based on a determination indicating a first setting item is one of a preregistered combination of setting items to be configured en bloc, modifies setting values for respective ones of the preregistered combination of setting items based on the accepted setting value for the first setting item, determines whether any one of the multiple display components corresponding to the modified setting values for the preregistered combination of setting items is configured as non-displayed, and based on a determination indicating any one of the multiple display components corresponding to the modified setting values is configured as non-displayed, outputs a notification indicating the setting value for the non-displayed setting item is modified.

An information processing apparatus capable of suppressing an erroneous operation by a user when a mobile terminal is brought close to the information processing apparatus for near field wireless communication. Approach of a mobile terminal is detected. Whether an operation related to performing specific processing has been carried out by a user is determined. A confirmation screen for confirming with the user whether to perform processing corresponding to the operation related to performing the specific processing is displayed when the approach of the mobile terminal is detected and it is determined that the operation related to performing the specific processing has been carried out.

A communication apparatus at a client side communicates with a server to update remote one-touch keys each time because a remote one-touch key can be deleted or added in a communication apparatus at the server side. However, a remote one-touch key selected to specify a transmission destination can be used to deselect the transmission destination. Consequently, the communication apparatus at the client side does not update the remote one-touch keys while the remote one-touch key is selected to specify the transmission destination. With the configuration, the one-touch keys provided from the communication apparatus at the server side can be used while the operability of the one-touch keys is maintained.

An information processing system including an information processing apparatus and an electronic device is provided for introducing an application stored in the information processing apparatus to the electronic device. The information processing apparatus includes a first processor configured to execute a first program to implement processes of storing and managing configuration information that is necessary for introducing an application to the electronic device, the configuration information including a list of one or more applications to be introduced and license information associated with the one or more applications that is necessary for introducing the one or more applications. The electronic device includes a second processor configured to execute a second program to implement processes of acquiring the configuration information from the information processing apparatus, acquiring the one or more applications from the information processing apparatus based on the acquired configuration information, and introducing the acquired one or more applications.

In order to be able to accept, on a preview display, operation to cope with various situations when using an image forming apparatus, an operating device comprises: a displaying unit configured to display a plurality of images within a preview display area; an accepting unit configured to accept a printing instruction for the image displayed by the displaying unit; and a display controlling unit configured to, in linkage with a printing performing state based on the printing instruction, display the images such that a partial image of the plurality of images is discharged from the preview display area and other image in the plurality of images is moved within the preview display area.
