The information processing apparatus further includes a first notification unit configured to provide a notification of a reception result of the predetermined information transmitted from the first substrate, and a second notification unit configured to provide a notification of a reception result of the response to the predetermined information that is transmitted from the second substrate.

An image forming apparatus of an internal ejection type in which a sheet ejection space is provided between an image reader and an image former, the image forming apparatus includes: an illuminator provided on a wall surface partitioning the sheet ejection space; a detector that detects a position of a work target enabled to move in pulling-out and storing directions within the sheet ejection space; and a controller that performs on/off control of the illuminator depending on a detection position of the detector, wherein in a case where it is detected that the work target is in a work position for performing human work, the controller performs on/off control of the illuminator to illuminate a work target portion that faces an interior of the sheet ejection space of the work target and is subjected to the human work.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body having a cartridge accommodation portion, an opening/closing member attached to the apparatus body and being movable between a first position at which the cartridge accommodation portion is exposed to the outside of the image forming apparatus and a second position at which the opening/closing member covers the cartridge accommodation portion and an operation panel unit for operating the image forming apparatus. The operation panel unit has a sheet portion and a switch portion to transmit a user's operation to the image forming apparatus via the sheet portion. The sheet portion is provided in the opening/closing member and is disposed at such a position as to at least partially overlap the cartridge accommodation portion on an insertion/removal trajectory of the cartridge and to cover the switch portion provided in the apparatus body in a state in which the opening/closing member is at the second position.

A display device is connected to the exterior of a document processing device. The display device includes a screen positioned to display in a first direction away from the exterior. Lights are connected to the display device. The lights are positioned to emit light in second direction toward the exterior of the document processing device. A processor is operatively connected to the display device and the lights. The processor is adapted to control the lights to emit corresponding lighting of a graphic item appearing on the screen.

A processor automatically determines the machine/job state of a document processing apparatus. The job/status data is automatically displayed on a first display portion of a multi-part screen of the document processing apparatus. A graphic item that is indicative of the machine/job state is only displayed on a second display portion of the multi-part screen of the document processing apparatus. The graphic item indicates the machine/job state of the document processing apparatus using facial expressions, engineering and/or math icons, etc.

In a push button portion of a button member, a first supported portion is supported by a push-in portion of a push-in type switch. An information processor including a voice inputter, a display, and a controller is provided. The controller executes a voice operation mode allowing an operation by voice input via the voice inputter, and performs control to reduce visibility of the display when execution of the voice operation mode is started.

The apparatus according to the present invention includes: a display control unit configured to display scanned image represented by scanned image data on a preview screen; a generation unit configured to generate information relating to the scanned image data by using the character string of the character string area selected via the preview screen; and a holding unit configured to hold selection information capable of specifying the selected character string area, and the display control unit determines a target that is displayed in a selected state of the character string areas extracted by the extraction unit based on the selection information relating to past scanned image data, which is held by the holding unit, and determines a display range of the scanned image so that all the target character string areas are included within the preview screen.

An information processing apparatus includes a power supply switch, a display, a light-emitting unit, and a controller. The power supply switch is used to perform a control function. The display is such that a time from switching on of the power supply switch until occurrence of a screen change is long and a user is likely to fail to correctly recognize a switching-on state. The light-emitting unit is switched on in a time until the screen change occurs. The switching on is performed in such a manner that the user is notified that the power supply switch is in a switching-on state. After the controller is activated through an operation of switching on the power supply switch, the controller switches off the light-emitting unit according to a switching-off condition.

An image forming device includes a light emission controller which controls emission of a plurality of types of light emission patterns by a plurality of light sources. The light emission controller emits each light emission pattern in response to a plurality of types of operations performed by an operator with respect to an operation portion. The light emission controller causes a light emission start timing of each of the plurality of types of light emission patterns to be different depending on the contents of the operations. The light emission controller emits first light emission patterns in response to operations performed by an operator with respect to the operation portion, emits second light emission patterns in response to a predetermined operation by the image forming device, and causes the first light emission patterns and the second light emission patterns to be different from each other in light emission end timing.
