An electronic device and a method of presenting an error in power off of the electronic device are provided. The electronic device includes a power switch that is manually set to ON and OFF, an actuator that sets the power switch to OFF, and a controller that outputs a control signal for controlling whether to supply power to the actuator. The electronic device notifies different information based on whether or not the power has been supplied to the actuator after the controller has output the control signal.

A recording apparatus includes an apparatus body, a recording section configured to perform recording on a medium, a support tray configured to support the medium on which recording was performed, and a light emitter configured to illuminate a portion of the support tray exposed to the outside of the apparatus body.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming part, a main board, a casing and a user interface part. The image forming part forms an image on the sheet. On the main board, which a control circuit for controlling the image forming part is formed. The image forming part and the main board are stored in the casing. A display device includes a display window, a light guide member, a first light emitting element and a second light emitting element. In an image forming apparatus, a controller makes a determination of whether or not a person present around the image forming apparatus has been detected by a motion sensor, makes a determination of whether or not a touch gesture has been made on a touch panel, counts, based on results of the determinations, a number of users of the image forming apparatus, a number of touch gestures on the touch panel or an elapsed time since a latest touch gesture on the touch panel, and allows a display device to display the number of users, the number of touch gestures or the elapsed time.

According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus supplies, in a normal mode, electric power to an image forming device, and limits, in a power saving mode, power supplying to the image forming device to be less than that in the normal mode. The image forming apparatus communicates, in the normal mode, with a germicidal lamp apparatus via a communication interface such that the germicidal lamp apparatus generates no germicidal light, and communicates, in the power saving mode, with the germicidal lamp apparatus via the communication interface such that the germicidal lamp apparatus generates germicidal light.

An image forming apparatus includes at least one of a print engine and a scan engine, a communication interface, a display, and a controller configured to perform at least one of controlling the print engine to perform printing and controlling the display to display a status of the printing, and controlling the scan engine to perform image scanning and controlling the display to display a status of the image scanning. The controller is further configured to sequentially switch a target image to be displayed from one still image to another among a plurality of still images constituting an animation, thereby displaying the animation on the display, and change a manner to display the animation when the image forming apparatus is remotely connected with an information processing device.
