An image forming apparatus, including: a circuit board on which an electronic part and a connector are mounted; a housing to which the circuit board is attached; a flexible flat cable, having a connecting portion connected to the connector, configured to electrically connect the circuit board and another circuit board different from the circuit board provided in the image forming apparatus; and a holding member holding the flexible flat cable and rotatable integrally with the flexible flat cable with respect to the housing, wherein the holding member is rotatable with respect to the housing between a first position in which the connecting portion is connected to the connector and a second position in which the connecting portion is retracted from a fitting position of the circuit board in the housing in a state in which the connecting portion is removed from the connector.

The image reading apparatus includes a reading unit, a cover portion which is openable and closable and in which a first surface forms an upper surface of the apparatus in a closed state and a second surface on an opposite side to the first surface supports a document in an opened state, and a document support tray which is displaceable between a storage position where the document support tray is stored in a state along the second surface in a state where the cover portion is closed and a withdrawn position where the document support tray is withdrawn from the storage position to the upstream side in the feeding direction of the document in a state where the cover portion is opened, and which supports at least a portion of a document supported by the cover portion in a state where the cover portion is opened.

An image reading apparatus includes a shooter where a first mounting surface that is inclined with respect to a horizontal plane is formed thereon, a stacker, a supporting unit that movably supports the stacker in such a manner that the stacker is arranged in a first region or a second region, a conveyance unit that conveys a document from the shooter to the stacker when the stacker is arranged in the first region, and a reading unit that reads an image from the document when the document is conveyed by the conveyance unit, wherein a surface area of a region of the first mounting surface that is covered by the stacker when the stacker is arranged in the first region is greater as compared with that when the stacker is arranged in the second region, and the stacker is formed to be capable of being lengthened or shortened.

An image reading device includes an opening/closing cover configured to open and close, a first roller that can convey a medium, a reading unit reads an image of the medium, and an elastic member that applies a force to the opening/closing cover in a direction of the closed state or the open state, where the opening/closing cover includes a guide portion that is longer than a length of the first roller in a width direction intersecting a conveying direction, in the closed state, the guide portion is displaceable to a first position of advancing to a conveyance path and a second position of retreating, and is applied with an elastic force so as to take the first position when the first medium is conveyed and take the second position when a second medium having higher rigidity than the first medium is conveyed.

A medium conveying apparatus includes a conveying roller to convey a medium, a first unit, a second unit located to face the first unit, an imaging sensor provided in the first unit, to image the medium conveyed by the conveying roller, a reference member including a facing surface, and provided in the second unit in such a way that the facing surface is rotatable between a facing position at which the facing surface faces the imaging sensor, and a non-facing position at which the facing surface deviates from the facing position, a guide portion to slidably guide the second unit in a direction perpendicular to a medium conveying surface so that the second unit moves in the direction perpendicular to the medium conveying surface, and a support portion to rotatably support the reference member. The support portion is located inside the guide portion.
Sheet Tray and Image Forming Apparatus
A sheet tray includes a first tray, a second tray, and a third tray. The second tray is configured to move between a stored position and an extended position, relative to the first tray. The third tray is pivotable about the pivot shaft between a first stowed position and a first extended position, relative to the second tray. One of the first tray and the third tray includes a columnar portion. The columnar portion protrudes toward the other of the first tray and the third tray in an area where, when the second tray is at the stored position and the third tray is at the first stowed position, the first tray overlaps the third tray in an orthogonal direction. The other includes a cutout shaped along a path where the columnar portion moves when the third tray moves from the first stowed position to the first extended position.

Image forming apparatus
An operation unit is provided on a front side of the image forming apparatus. A document feeding portion feeds a document supported by a document supporting portion in a document feeding direction from a front side of the image forming apparatus toward the rear side of the image forming apparatus. A document discharge portion discharges the document in a document discharge direction from the rear side toward the front side. The operation unit is disposed on one side with respect to an apparatus center of the image forming apparatus in a left-right direction orthogonal to a direction from the front side to the rear side. A conveyance center of the document feeding portion in the left-right direction is disposed on the other side with respect to the apparatus center in the left-right direction.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body including a housing cover, a printer, a discharge roller, a discharge portion, a scanner, and a document cover. The discharge portion is recessed downward in a vertical direction relative to an upper surface of the housing cover and includes a first wall and a second wall, and a receiving surface situated therebetween. The scanner is disposed downstream from the discharge portion in a sheet discharge direction, and includes a document table and an image sensor. The document cover is configured to pivot between a first position at which the document cover covers the document table of the scanner from above and a second position that is different from the first position. When the document cover is located at the first position, an upper surface of the document cover is substantially level with a downstream end of the receiving surface.
