An image forming apparatus includes: a body of the image forming apparatus; an opening and closing unit that is supported by the body of the image forming apparatus so as to rotate relative to the body of the image forming apparatus and that opens and closes an inside of the body of the image forming apparatus, the opening and closing unit having a rotating shaft; a first coupling unit that has a first tube portion and a second coupling unit that has an extension portion a bent portion, and a second tube portion. When the opening and closing unit has been moved to an open position where the opening and closing unit opens the inside of the body of the image forming apparatus, a contact part at which the opening and closing unit is to be in contact with the second coupling unit is in contact with the bent portion.

An opening/closing cover attachment structure couples an edge of an opening/closing cover to a cover attaching body in a turnable manner. The opening/closing cover attachment structure includes a first hinge, a second hinge and a holding part. The first hinge and the second hinge are disposed on the edge of the opening/closing cover via an interval. The holding part is disposed outside between the first hinge and the second hinge, and capable of holding the opening/closing cover in a closing state and releasing the holding. Hinge axes of the first hinge and the second hinge are sifted each other in a front-and-rear direction of the opening/closing cover, such that it becomes possible to reduce a level difference between contact end portions of the opening/closing cover in the closing state and the cover attaching body.

An image reading apparatus includes: an image reader that reads an image of a document; a document conveying apparatus including a housing internally including a conveyance path that conveys the document, and a supply tray designed to supply the document to the conveyance path, and a discharge tray designed to receive the document; and a cover member that covers the supply tray and the discharge tray, wherein in a case where a direction orthogonal to a first direction along a document discharge direction and orthogonal to the up-down direction in the discharge tray is defined as a second direction, the cover member includes an opposing wall opposed to one end of the supply tray and one end of the discharge tray, and an upper wall connected to an upper part of the opposing wall and designed to cover a zone above the supply tray and the discharge tray.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet, a casing accommodating the image forming unit, a pair of doors which open from center, and a protrusion portion. The pair of doors which open from center include a first door, a second door, and a handle. The handle is disposed on an opposite surface of an exterior surface of the first door. The protrusion portion protrudes from an end of the second door toward the first door in a direction intersecting with the second pivot axis and extending an exterior surface of the second door when the pair of doors are closed. The handle covers a gap between the first door and the protrusion portion in a front-back direction of the image forming apparatus when the pair of doors are closed.

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body, a door, a first guide, a second guide configured to move from a first position to a second position, a first illumination device, and a second illumination device. The first illumination device is configured to illuminate a door side of the second guide positioned in the second position, with the door side of the second guide being closer to the door than a conveyance center line of the conveyance path in a width direction orthogonal to a sheet conveyance direction of a sheet which is conveyed in the conveyance path. The second illumination device is configured to illuminate in a direction different from a direction in which the first illumination device illuminates, and the second illumination device is configured to illuminate a space between the first guide and the second guide positioned in the second position.

An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a separate unit separated from the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus includes an opening/closing section that is provided on the front side of the image forming apparatus and opens frontward. The separate unit is configured to be movable along a predetermined movement path between a predetermined first position at which the opening/closing section is openable/closable and a predetermined second position that is positioned in front of the image forming apparatus. At the second position, the separate unit blocks at least part of the opening/closing section in such a manner that the opening/closing section is not opened.

An image reading apparatus 300 comprises: the scanner device SD which reads information about a sheet P conveyed on a paper conveying route PP and information about a position, a form and a color of an image formed on the sheet P; a spectrophotometer CI which reads information about a color of an image formed on a sheet P conveyed on the paper conveying route PP; and a support base TR which incorporates the paper conveying route and a motor for conveying a sheet and can be pulled out from a main body together with the paper conveying route and the motor. The scanner device SD is not mounted on the support base TR but fixed to the main body of the image reading apparatus. The spectrophotometer CI is mounted on and fixed to the support base TR, and spaced from the paper transfer route PP by a predetermined distance.

An image reading apparatus includes: an image reader that reads an image of a document; a document conveying apparatus including a housing internally including a conveyance path that conveys the document, and a supply tray designed to supply the document to the conveyance path, and a discharge tray designed to receive the document; and a cover member that covers the supply tray and the discharge tray, wherein in a case where a direction orthogonal to a first direction along a document discharge direction and orthogonal to the up-down direction in the discharge tray is defined as a second direction, the cover member includes an opposing wall opposed to one end of the supply tray and one end of the discharge tray, and an upper wall connected to an upper part of the opposing wall and designed to cover a zone above the supply tray and the discharge tray.

An image forming apparatus includes an image reading portion; an image forming portion; a first casing; a second casing including a space which continuously opens to two directions perpendicular to not only the vertical direction but also each other and including a mounting portion where the first casing is mountable at a position where the space does not continuously open to the two directions; one or more supporting portion; and one or more auxiliary supporting portion. A gap is formed between itself and the other one of the first casing and the mounting portion in a state in which no load is externally exerted on the first casing, and wherein the auxiliary supporting portion contacts the other one when a load not less than a predetermined load is externally exerted on an upper portion of the first casing downward at a position deviated from the mounting portion.

A sheet containing apparatus includes a first container unit that contains a sheet having a first size and that tilts with respect to a horizontal direction such that a first end and a second end in a width direction of the apparatus are located at different heights with the first container unit installed in a sheet containing apparatus body when viewed in a first direction, and a covering portion that is movable to a covering position at which the covering portion covers at least a part of the first container unit in the first direction and an open position at which the covering portion uncovers the first container unit in the first direction. When viewed in the first direction, a tilting division line is adjacent to the first container unit and tilts with respect to the horizontal direction, and at least a whole of the tilting division line is covered by the single covering portion in the first direction with the covering portion positioned at the covering position.
