Multifunction device including lock mechanism that shifts between states of restricting and allowing pivoting between adjacent unit and scanner
A multifunction device includes a scanner and a printer disposed below the scanner. The scanner includes a support surface to support a document, and a scanning unit to scan the document. The scanning unit includes a sensor including reading elements arranged in a main scanning direction, and a moving member holding the sensor and configured to move in a sub-scanning direction. The scanner is connected to the printer pivotably between a first position at which the scanner conceals an upper portion of the printer, and a second position at which the scanner exposes the upper. In response to the moving member moving in the sub-scanning direction, a responsive mechanism shifts the lock mechanism between an operative state in which the lock mechanism restricts pivoting of the scanner relative to the printer, and an inoperative state in which the lock mechanism permits pivoting of the scanner relative to the printer.
Multi-function apparatus
A multi-function apparatus includes a body, an image reading unit, a document cover and a locking member. The image reading unit is movable between a closed position and an opened position. The document cover is movable between a closed position and an opened position. The locking member is movable to a first position and a second position and includes a first engagement portion and a second engagement portion. In response to a movement of the document cover to the opened position, the locking member moves to the first position and locks the image reading unit to the closed position. In response to a movement of the image reading unit to the opened position, the locking member moves to the second position and locks the document cover to the closed position.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus (10) includes an apparatus main body (20), a first processing unit (30) and a second processing unit (40). The apparatus main body (20) performs an image forming process onto a paper sheet. The first processing unit (30) and the second processing unit (40) are disposed in vertical direction (91) such that one is located on an upside of the other on a same side face's side of the apparatus main body 20. The second processing unit (40) is disposed on the upside of the first processing unit (30), and is configured in such a manner as to be capable of being slidingly moved in an approaching-leaving direction (92) in relation to the apparatus main body (20).
Image recording apparatus including cover unit mounted in openable and closable manner above image recording unit
An image reading and recording apparatus includes an image recording unit and an image reading unit supported to be pivotally movable above the image recording unit and configured to be opened and closed by being pivotally moved relative to the image recording unit. The apparatus includes a stay including an opening portion formed thereon, a rotor inserted in the opening portion of the stay, a first cam surface provided on an inner peripheral portion of the opening portion, and a second cam surface provided on an outer peripheral portion of the rotor. The rotor rotates due to abutment of the first cam surface and the second cam surface with each other. The image reading unit is held in a first opened state with a first open angle, due to meshed engagement of the first cam surface and the second cam surface with each other.
Image reading apparatus
An image reading apparatus includes a reading unit, a cover, and a hinge mechanism connecting the cover to the reading unit pivotably about a pivot axis which extends in a first direction. A center of gravity of the cover is closer to a first end of the cover in a first direction than to a second end of the cover. A first hinge is spaced from the center of gravity toward the second end of the cover in the first direction. A second hinge is disposed closer to the center of gravity in the first direction than the first hinge. The first hinge includes a base member disposed movably in the reading unit, a pivot member coupled to the cover, and an urging member exerting an urging force between the base member and the pivot member so as to maintain the cover at a pivoted position.
HINGE DEVICE AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT USING THE SAME
A hinge device for opening and closing a relatively lightweight cover, as well as office equipment using such a hinge device. A hinge device includes an attaching part attached to the office equipment side, the supporting part attached to the cover side, a hinge shaft for rotatably coupling the attaching part and the supporting part, a slider provided inside the supporting part so as to be slidable in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction of the hinge shaft, a cam portion formed on the attaching part, a cam bearing portion formed on the slider, an urging means for urging the slider toward the attaching member and bringing the cam bearing portion into a pressurized contact with the cam portion.
Image reading apparatus and image forming apparatus including storage which stores information relating to sheet size detected by size detector
In a case where a user places a document placed on a document positioning glass plate without sufficiently opening an automatic document feeding device, sheet size information will not be reset and an image may be read based on incorrect size information. Therefore, in the present invention, an angle at which the size information is reset is set to an angle between a first angle at which the automatic document feeding device is closed, and a second angle (1) at which the automatic document feeding device is moved to open automatically after being released from a holding state by a holding unit.
Image processing apparatus, method for controlling the same, and storage medium
An image processing apparatus locks a particular cover so as not to be opened based on a particular jam being detected, and displays a particular screen for notifying a user that the particular cover is locked.
DEVICE HINGES
In an example, a device hinge may include a hinge member to rotatably engage a device feature to a device. The device hinge may further include a cam element having a cam ramp and a cam face. The cam face may engage with the device feature in a stowed position. The device feature may further include a bias member and an ejector. The ejector may move the device feature from the stowed position to an ejected position, and the bias member may move the device feature to the ejected position such that a clearance gap is created in between a surface of the device feature and a surface of the device
HINGE APPARATUS FOR COVER OF IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A hinge for a cover of an image forming apparatus has a hinge housing to be movably positioned into an opening in a body of the image forming apparatus, a hinge cam to couple to the cover and to pivotably couple to the hinge housing to support pivoting of the cover.
