Image reading apparatus and image forming system
An image reading apparatus includes a transport unit, a reader, a detector, and a controller. The transport unit transports a document. The reader reads the transported document. The detector detects whether or not a document bundle prior to being transported is present. While a document in a first document bundle corresponding to a first job is being transported, if the detector detects that a document in a second document bundle corresponding to a second job as a subsequent job is loaded, the controller changes pre-feeding operation for preliminarily pulling a document in the second document bundle into the image reading apparatus in accordance with a pull-in position of the document in the image reading apparatus.
Image reading apparatus
An image reading apparatus, includes: a supply tray; a discharge tray; a conveyance guide; a reading sensor; a discharge unit, which includes a discharge opening to discharge the sheet conveyed by the conveyance guide to the discharge tray and is configured to move from a third position to a fourth as the document supported by the paper feed tray is decreased, the fourth position being higher than the third position; a first drive source, which generates a drive force; a first rotation body, which moves the movable plate by transmitting the drive force from the first drive source to the movable plate; and a second rotation body, which moves the discharge unit by transmitting the drive force from the first drive source to the discharge unit, wherein a diameter of the first rotation body and a diameter of the second rotation body are different from each other.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS, METHOD OF CONTROLLING IMAGE READING APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An image reading apparatus configured to cause a document placed on a document tray to be conveyed based on information about a thickness of the document includes a detector configured to detect the document placed on the document tray, a display device configured to display an object for setting the thickness of the document when the detector detects the document placed on the document tray, a sheet conveyance controller configured to cause a sheet conveyance device to convey the document based on information about the thickness of the document set by the object displayed by the display device, and a reader configured to read an image of the document conveyed by the sheet conveyance device, wherein the image reading apparatus receives a setting as to whether a screen for setting the thickness of the document is to be displayed when the detector detects the placed document.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD OF IMAGE READING APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
Provided is an image reading apparatus in which a setting screen is displayed upon detecting that a document is placed on the document tray. In a case where a document is placed on an automatic document conveyance device, if a paper jam occurs while using the automatic document conveyance device, a screen of a paper jam is preferentially displayed even when a setting of automatically displaying a selection screen of a sheet thickness is set at the time. This prevents a specific screen desired to be continuously displayed from being hidden upon detecting that a document is placed on a document tray.
Medium processing apparatus
A medium processing apparatus includes a processing section performing a process on a sheet-like medium; a transport roller pair including a driving roller and a driven roller, and transporting the medium in a transport path including a region in which the processing section performs a process; a first casing accommodating the processing section and the transport roller pair; a second casing configured to close and open with respect to the first casing; and a displacement mechanism displacing the transport roller pair to a separation position and a contact position. The displacement mechanism displaces the transport roller pair from the contact position to the separation position in conjunction with an operation of opening the second casing.
Medium carrying device
A medium carrying device includes a first stopper, a second stopper, a lever, and a mechanism that, when the lever is positioned in a blocking area, places the first stopper at a first blocking position and places the second stopper at a second blocking position, when the lever is positioned in a opening area, releases the first stopper to be positioned at a first opening position and releases the second stopper to be positioned at a second opening position. When the lever is positioned at a boundary position in between the blocking area and the opening area, a lever portion of the lever gets positioned in between a first stopper portion of the first stopper positioned at the first blocking position and a second stopper portion of the second stopper positioned at the second blocking position.
MULTIFUNCTION MACHINE, IMAGE SCANNING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD FOR MULTIFUNCTION MACHINE, AND COMPUTER READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
A control method for a multifunction machine includes detecting placement of a document on a document tray, displaying an object in accordance with document placement detection, storing information indicating the thickness of the document set using the object, conveying the document based on the information, and scanning the conveyed document. The object is displayed in accordance with document placement detection while a function selection screen is displayed, the information is received from a user through the object, and the document is conveyed based on the information in a case where execution of the copy function is commanded through a copy screen displayed after selection of the copy function. Even when a user places a document while a function selection screen is displayed, the thickness of the document can be set with certainty, and the document is scanned based on the set thickness.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS AND SCREEN DISPLAY METHOD BY IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS
An image processing apparatus includes: an automatic document feeder; a document placement table; a document detector provided on at least one of the automatic document feeder and the document placement table, the document detector being configured to detect a document; and circuitry to cause a display to display one of a first screen that receives an input for selecting an orientation of a document placed on the automatic document feeder and a second screen that receives an input for selecting the orientation of the document placed on the document placement table, based on a detection result of the document detector.
Document reading apparatus and method for controlling document reading apparatus
It is possible to read a document at an optimal speed according to an operation mode selected by a user while improving productivity at a low cost, without forcing the user to perform a complicated operation for changing a document reading speed. A method for controlling a reading unit to read a document with a first reading resolution in a case where a reading resolution is the first reading resolution, to read a document with a second reading resolution in a case where the reading resolution is the second reading resolution smaller than the first reading resolution and a predetermined mode is not set, and to read a document with the first reading resolution in a case where the reading resolution is the second reading resolution smaller than the first reading resolution and the predetermined mode is set.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS RELATING TO DOCUMENT AND FASTENER IDENTIFICATION
Method and systems of automated document processing described herein include activating in sequence a plurality of illumination modules of an illumination source to illuminate a document, where the plurality of illumination modules are located at different positions relative to the document. The document can be imaged each time the document is illuminated by an illumination module to provide a plurality of images. A shadow profile of the document can be obtained based on the plurality of images. One or more of a boundary of the document and presence of a fastener attached to the document can be identified using the shadow profile. Any fasteners present may be removed using a robot arm.
