Image forming apparatus and method of controlling a display for selecting a sheet feeding cassette source
According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a setting unit configured to apply a setting selected from at least a decolorable recording agent including a decolorable color material and a non-decolorable recording agent including a non-decolorable color material, for a sheet feeding cassette; and a display unit configured to display sheet feeding cassettes whose settings match a user-selected recording agent differently from sheet feeding cassettes whose settings do not match the user-selected recording agent.
Recording apparatus
Provided is a recording apparatus capable of accurate positioning and size detection in accordance with a medium size in a paper feed cassette capable of supporting media of a plurality of sizes.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD FOR CONTROLLING IMAGE READING APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM HAVING STORED THEREIN CONTROL METHOD
An image reading apparatus includes a conveying unit configured to convey a document, a reading unit configured to read an image on the conveyed document, a measurement unit configured to measure a distance from an upper portion of a sheet feeding port for the document to an upper surface of the document, and a control unit configured to, according to the distance measured by the measurement unit, suspend the conveyance of the document by the conveying unit. According to a user operation for reading again the document of which the reading is suspended by the control unit, the conveying unit conveys the document and the reading unit reads the image on the document, and while the document of which the conveyance is suspended is conveyed again, the control unit does not suspend the conveyance of the document based on the distance measured by the measurement unit.
RECORDING APPARATUS
Provided is a recording apparatus capable of accurate positioning and size detection in accordance with a medium size in a paper feed cassette capable of supporting media of a plurality of sizes.
Image reading device and image forming apparatus
An image reading device includes a document feeder and a reader. The document feeder includes a document tray and feeds an original document loaded on the document tray. The reader includes an original glass plate, a reading unit, and a document separating member. At least one of the document feeder and the reader is provided with a fan that creates an air flow. A first duct is provided in a housing of the reader. The document separating member is provided with a plurality of first discharge holes through which the air flowing through the first duct is discharged. A second duct is provided in a housing of the document feeder. The wall of the document feeder is provided with a plurality of second discharge holes through which the air flowing through the second duct is discharged.
READING KIT AND IMAGE READING APPARATUS
Provided is a reading kit including a reading unit configured to read an image of an original being conveyed in a predetermined direction at a predetermined reading position, and a white reference sheet comprising a white reference portion to be read by the reading unit and an engaged portion to be engaged with a positioning member. The white reference portion being arranged at the predetermined reading position by engaging the engaged portion with the positioning member.
IMAGE READING DEVICE, DOCUMENT FEEDER DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image reading device includes a turning unit, a hinge, and a reading unit having a reader that reads a sheet image. The hinge turns the turning unit which turns relative to the reading unit. The reader reads, through a reading unit reading glass, an image on a sheet placed on the reading glass. The turning unit includes a pressing plate, a conveying roller, a motor, and a communication unit. The pressing plate presses a sheet against the reading glass when the turning unit is at a position closing the reading glass. The motor rotates the conveying roller to convey a sheet. In a direction perpendicular to a turning axis line direction of the hinge, the motor is disposed on one side of the turning unit. The communication unit is disposed on the other side and receives data from outside of the image reading device.
IMAGE READING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image reading device includes a loading section, a reader, and a document feeder. The loading section receives loading of a document and an identification medium. The reader reads the document and the identification medium. The document feeder conveys the document to the reader. The loading section includes a second contact glass and a medium restriction section. The second contact glass receives loading of the identification medium. The medium restriction section restricts a position of the identification medium loaded on the second contact glass. The document being conveyed by the document feeder has opposite end portions and a central portion therebetween. The opposite end portions respectively include opposite ends of the document in a direction perpendicular to a conveyance direction of the document. Only the central portion, among the opposite end portions and the central portion, of the document comes in contact with the medium restriction section.
PRINT MEDIA SIZE/COLOR DETECTION USING SCANNER
A user interface of a printer displays instructions to use the printer's document scanner for scanning a sheet of print media (of a stack of print media being added to the paper drawer) in response to a drawer sensor detecting the opening of the paper drawer. The document scanner generates an electronic image of the sheet of print media from the scanning of the sheet of print media. The processor evaluates the electronic image of the sheet of print media to identify the media type and color of the stack of print media being added to the paper drawer. For example, this is done by evaluating the size, color characteristic, transparency, and reflection characteristic of the electronic image of the sheet of print media. Then, the electronic memory records that the paper drawer contains the stack of print media having a specific media type and color.
