An image forming apparatus includes a printing unit, a verification unit, an insertion unit, and a display unit. The printing unit prints an image on a recording sheet. The verification unit verifies the image printed by the printing unit. The insertion unit inserts an insertion sheet, on which an identifier is printed, to partition a plurality of recording sheets, on each of which the image is printed, for each bundle of a predetermined number of sheets. The display unit displays the number of recording sheets on each of which an image associated with the identifier and determined as a normal image by the verification unit is printed.

Providing printed confidential documents

Examples of providing printed confidential documents are described herein. In an example, a printing system includes at least two protected trays to store printed confidential documents. The at least two protected trays may be coupled to each other to enable transfer of the printed confidential documents between the at least two protected trays. Further, an output tray may be coupled to at least one of the at least two protected trays to provide the printed confidential documents for collection. Furthermore, on receiving an authentication input, the printed confidential documents may be transferred from one of the at least two protected trays to the output tray.

An image recording apparatus, including a body including a path to convey a sheet from a feeder tray to an ejection tray; a conveyer unit to convey the sheet; a recording unit to record an image on the sheet; and a controller to control the conveyer unit and the recording unit, is provided. The controller is configured to execute a ejection request accepting process, in which the controller accepts a request for executing a sheet ejection job being a single job to eject the sheet without causing a recording action in the recording unit; and a sheet ejecting process, in which, after accepting the request for executing the sheet ejection job, the controller controls the conveyer unit to convey the sheet from the feeder tray to the ejection tray without causing the recording action in the recording unit.

Conveying apparatus

A conveying apparatus, including: a conveyor mechanism; a housing; a first tray configured to receive a medium conveyed by the conveyor mechanism; an image reader disposed above the first tray, wherein a first discharge opening for discharging the medium outside the housing is formed in an upper surface of the housing so as not to overlap the image reader when viewed from above, and wherein the conveying apparatus further includes: a switcher for switching a destination of the medium selectively between the first tray and the first discharge opening; and a tray unit removably mountable on the upper surface of the housing and including a first introduction opening opposed to the first discharge opening, a second conveyance path for conveying the medium passed the first discharge opening and the first introduction opening, and at least one second tray for receiving the medium conveyed through the second conveyance path.

SHEET READING APPARATUS, DOCUMENT READING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

A sheet reading apparatus includes a sheet table on which a sheet is placed, a conveyor configured to convey the sheet, a reading guide configured to guide the sheet conveyed by the conveyor, and a reading device configured to read a shadow of the sheet conveyed by the conveyor, for detection of an inclination of the sheet. The sheet reading apparatus further includes a transparent member disposed at a position on a reading line of the reading device. The position on the reading line is withdrawn from the sheet and adjacent to the reading guide.
