In a case where predetermined sheet feeding information is applied on the document, the sheet feeding information is read on the basis of the image data. Conveying of the sheet is controlled so as to convey the sheet corresponding to the sheet feeding information from the sheet feeding cartridge to the image forming part and, on the other hand, to eject the sheet not corresponding to the sheet feeding information from the sheet feeding cartridge without passing through the image forming part.

A printing apparatus having an insert-sheet inserting function includes a plurality of sheet-feeding ports, a printing mechanism that performs printing on paper fed from each sheet-feeding port, and a controller that controls the printing mechanism. In a case where no insert-sheets are present in a sheet-feeding port for insert-sheets when the printing mechanism feeds the insert-sheets from the sheet-feeding port for insert-sheets, the controller selects another sheet-feeding port different from the sheet-feeding port for insert-sheets as a new sheet-feeding port for insert-sheets on the basis of a paper specification of paper used for printing data to be printed and a sheet-feeding port setting.

An image forming device and an image forming system which can perform a sheet setting process for a sheet on which an image or text has already been formed, an image forming system control method, and a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing a program. The image forming device includes a communication section, a determination section, and a notifying section. The communication section receives, from a sheet detector for detecting a physical property value of a sheet, detected information acquired by detecting the sheet. The determination section determines whether the detected information meets a given condition or not. The image former forms an image on the sheet. The fixer fixes the image onto the sheet. The detector is arranged on the conveying path and detects the type of the sheet. The processor executes a sheet type detection mode which is a mode for causing the detector to detect the type of the sheet conveyed by the conveyor before executing an image forming mode which is a mode for causing the image former to form the image and causing the fixer to fix the image.
