An image forming system having a printing apparatus including a feeder to be pulled out and an image forming unit. The printing apparatus further includes a reception unit to receive a user instruction for setting sheet information on a sheet in association with the feeder. Based on set sheet information, the image forming unit forms an image on a sheet fed from the feeder. The image forming system further includes a display unit to display feeder information and a detection unit to detect that the feeder in a pulled-out state is closed. The display unit displays the feeder information subjected to the user instruction in a first display form and, based on a detection by the detection unit, changes the display by the display unit including the first display form having the feeder information to a display including a second display form different from the first display form.

A captured image is obtained in which an adapter tray is captured which is fitted in a predetermined first area in a conveyance tray conveyed by a printing apparatus and has a second area fitted with a printing medium on which printing is performed by the printing apparatus. A shape of the second area is specified based on the captured image and information about the predetermined first area. Further, an image based on the specified shape of the second area is output.

In a cumulative mode, when the total number of times by which the current value, which is the output of the load detecting sensor, is equal to or more than the predetermined threshold (the current value) is equal to or more than a predetermined threshold, it is determined that the transportation is abnormal. A controller sets a detection mode of a first medium to the continuous mode, and sets a detection mode of a second medium to the cumulative mode.

An image processing apparatus includes a first obtaining unit that obtains attribute information that specifies a process performed by an image forming apparatus in accordance with a print job including print data, a generation unit that generates a display image on the basis of the print data included in the print job, and a determination unit that determines a display color of a drawing area which corresponds to an area of a recording medium for printing the print data and in which a display image generated by the generation unit is to be disposed. If the attribute information specifies that a white color material be used, the determination unit determines the display color of the drawing area as a color other than white.

An image processing apparatus includes a display control unit that displays, on a display unit, a first area, in which a display image generated from print data included in a print job subjected to printing performed by an image forming apparatus is to be disposed, a second area, which corresponds to a recording medium on which an image to be printed corresponding to the display image is recorded and in which the display image is to be disposed, and a third area, which corresponds to a background of the recording medium and includes the second area, an identification unit that identifies a color of the recording medium specified by attribute information that specifies a process performed by the image forming apparatus in accordance with the print job, a setting unit that sets a background image of the recording medium, and a generation unit that generates the display image.

An image forming apparatus that can improve operability of a user selecting a print job from a job list is provided. The image forming apparatus includes a paper feeding tray and a processor. The paper feeding tray contains paper. The processor obtains tray paper information, which is information of paper set on the paper feeding tray, obtains job paper information from a memory that stores a job list including a plurality of print jobs associated with the job paper information, which is information of paper used at the time of output of the print jobs, and narrows down the print jobs in the job list to at least one print job for re-output based on the obtained tray paper information and job paper information.

An image forming apparatus acquires an input image generated by reading an image of an original document to be copied, and determination information of whether or not the input image corresponds to a blank. The image forming apparatus controls a printer to print the input image together with a page number on a sheet and output the sheet, according to a determination result indicated by the determination information. At that time, the image forming apparatus controls the printer so as to output a sheet on which the page number is not printed, with respect to the input image determined to correspond to a blank.

An image forming apparatus include an apparatus body, a cassette, and a size detector to detect a size of a sheet stored in the cassette. An image forming unit forms an image on a sheet fed from the cassette depending on a size setting and a type setting stored in a memory. In addition, a controller executes a first rewrite process to rewrite the size setting in a memory with size information acquired as a detection result of the size detector, if the cassette in an open state is closed, a determination process to determine whether the size information used for rewriting the size setting in the first rewrite process and the type setting stored in the memory satisfy a predetermined combination condition, and a second rewrite process to rewrite the type setting in the memory with predetermined type information that satisfies the combination condition with respect to the size information used for rewriting the size setting in the first rewrite process if the combination condition is not satisfied in the determination process.

An information control apparatus controls a printer device. The printer device performs printing on a sheet fed from a sheet feeder in accordance with a print instruction. The information control apparatus includes a controller. In a case in which the printer device outputs a check sheet while the print instruction is being executed, if a sheet to be used as the check sheet is a prohibited type of sheet to be prohibited from being used as the check sheet, the controller performs control so that the prohibited type of sheet will be switched to a sheet which is preset as a substitute type of sheet and the sheet feeder will feed the sheet preset as the substitute type of sheet.

An image forming apparatus having a plurality of sheet feeding cassettes includes a display device; and a controller circuit including: a display control unit configured to generate information to be displayed on the display device, the information including a sheet feeding cassette selection region and a first recording agent selection region; and a setting unit configured to apply a recording agent setting for each of the sheet feeding cassettes based on a selection made in the first recording agent selection region among at least a decolorable recording agent including a decolorable color material and a non-decolorable recording agent including a non-decolorable color material. The display control unit is further configured to generate for display on the display device a list of the sheet feeding cassettes along with the recording agent setting for each of the sheet feeding cassettes.
