IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an exit tray, a printing unit, an output unit, and a control unit. A printing medium after printing is discharged to the exit tray. The printing unit performs printing of an image on the printing medium, and discharges the printing medium after printing to the exit tray. The output unit outputs information. The control unit causes the printing unit to stop the printing of the image on the printing medium, and causes the output unit to output alert information on discharge of the printing medium to the exit tray, if the number of printing media on the exit tray is equal to or greater than a predetermined first threshold value. The control unit causes the printing unit to stop the printing of the image on the printing medium, and causes the output unit to output the alert information, if the number of printing media on the exit tray is equal to or greater than a second threshold value which is smaller than the first threshold value, and if a predetermined printing stop condition is satisfied.

An image processing apparatus includes a document area extracting module configured to extract a document area from the captured image, the document area being an area of the document, a note area extracting module configured to extract a first note area from the captured image, the first note area being an area of the first note positioned at a first position of the document area of the first page, a character determining module configured to determine the first character included in the first note area by optical character recognition, a document image generating module configured to mask the first note area included in the document area, and generate a document image, a file name generating module configured to generate a file name including the first character, and a file generating module configured to generate an electronic file of the document image having the file name.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
An image reading apparatus includes a document table, a pressing plate that rotates about a rotation axis between an open position and a closed position, a line sensor that includes an image sensor arranged in a main scanning direction intersecting the rotation axis and outputs data by reading a document on the document table, and a control unit that determines presence or absence of the document based on first data acquired by the line sensor when the pressing plate is in an intermediate position before reaching the closed position and second data acquired by the line sensor when the pressing plate is in the closed position, wherein when the control unit determines the presence or absence of the document based on the first data and the second data, the control unit uses coefficient data that is smaller as a distance from the rotation axis is longer.
MEDIUM CONVEYING DEVICE AND DETERMINATION METHOD
In a medium conveying device, a projector projects light, a projection light amount of the light changes, at every fixed time, to a first projection light amount and a second projection light amount less than the first projection light amount, a receiver receives the light projected from the projector, a processor determines, at fixed sampling timings, whether a reception light amount of the receiver is at a first reception light level or a second reception light level smaller than the first reception light level, determines, when the reception light amount alternately changes to the first reception light level and the second reception light level, that a medium is not present on a conveying path, and determines, when the reception light amount is fixed to either the first reception light level or the second reception light level, that the medium is present on the conveying path.
METHOD OF ADJUSTING TIMING OF INK EJECTION ON AN INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS
An ink ejection timing adjustment method on an inkjet recording apparatus includes an information acquiring step of acquiring at least recording medium information with a reading sensor, a printing step of printing a test pattern on a recording medium on a conveying belt, a calculating step of calculating a delay time by adding to a default set time a correction time corresponding to a correction value for ink ejection timing entered based on the printed position of the test pattern, and a setting step of setting the delay time as a predetermined time at the lapse of which after, as a result of the conveying belt turning, an opening passes a reading position a recording head starts to eject ink to the opening.
Medium transporting device, image reading apparatus, and transporting control method
There is provided a medium transporting device including: a medium placement section on which a medium is placed, a feeding roller feeding a medium from the medium placement section, a motion detection sensor detects a motion of a medium, and a controller that stops feeding of a medium based on a detection value received from the motion detection sensor, in which the motion detection sensor is a two-dimensional sensor including a light emitting section and a light receiving section and detecting a motion of a medium, the medium placement section is provided with a placement detector that acquires information relating to a presence/absence of a medium on the medium placement section, and the controller sets a state of the light emitting section to a non-light emitting state when detection information of the placement detector indicates that a medium is absent on the medium placement section.
Image forming apparatus, document reading device and conveyance method
An image forming apparatus comprises a tray, a conveyor, a detector and a movement mechanism. The tray accommodates at least one document. The conveyor conveys the document placed on the tray. The detector detects that the document is placed on the tray. The movement mechanism moves the tray from a first position to a second position closer to the conveyor than the first position based on the detection that the document is placed on the tray, and after moving the tray from the first position to the second position, moves the tray to the first position based on a setting of a mixed stacking mode in which mixing of the documents with different sizes on the tray is permitted.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, an intermediate transfer member, a transfer member, a power source, a fixing unit, a photo sensor, and a control unit configured to perform a mode to output a test chart which is formed by transferring a plurality of test toner images from the intermediate transfer member onto a plurality of sheets of the recording material, the test chart being used to adjust the transfer voltage applied to the transfer member. The control unit is configured to adjust the transfer voltage based on a detection result of the photo sensor detecting the plurality of test toner images recovered on the recording material. In a case where a jam occurred during execution of the mode, the control unit is configured to resume the mode after the jam has been recovered.
System and method for alignment of scan documents
A system and method for aligning documents for scanning includes a multifunction peripheral with a controller having a processor and associated memory. The controller issues instructions controlling operation of a scanner. A tangible document is placed on a surface of a scanner platen, and a sensor determines its location relative to the platen. An optimal position of the document relative to the platen is determined. The processor then generates a graphical rendering on an associated display indicative of a directed repositioning of the document on the platen in accordance with a determined optimal position of the document relative to the platen.
