The controller disables a selection of the setting items of the job that uses a specific function on the second setting screen when use of the specific function is prohibited on the first setting screen.

A recording material transporting device includes a first transport unit that transports a recording material as a target to be transported and a second transport unit that has a transport belt, the transport belt receiving the recording material from the first transport unit and performing transport of the recording material toward a reader that reads an image on the recording material, the transport belt having a transport surface having different friction coefficients in a transport direction that is a direction of the transport and in an intersection direction that is a direction intersecting the transport direction, the friction coefficient in the intersection direction being smaller than the friction coefficient in the transport direction.
Printing system, control method thereof, and storage medium for verifying print results in a plurality of sheet discharged destinations of different type
In a system that verifies a print detect in a printed sheet, inconsistency between the sheet side at the time of reference image registration and that at the time of verification processing is prevented from occurring without imposing complicated work on a user. An image on a sample sheet is registered in advance as a reference image in association with the sheet side and at the same time, the sheet discharge setting for the sample sheet is stored. Verification is performed by matching the sheet side associated with the reference image and the verification-target side of the printed sheet based on the sheet discharge setting stored as a sheet discharge setting in the print processing.
Image reading device and image forming apparatus incorporating same
An image reading device includes a first scanner, a second scanner, and circuitry. The first scanner is configured to read a first side of a recording medium. The second scanner is configured to read a second side of the recording medium. The circuitry is configured to generate a first correction value to correct misalignment between the first side and the second side. The circuitry is configured to input a second correction value. The circuitry is configured to correct an image based on the first correction value and the second correction value.
Imaging method, imaging device, method for distinguishing imaging object, and storage medium
An imaging device comprises an imaging sensor and a pulsed LED for illuminating an imaging object of the imaging sensor, performs respective imagings according to respective imaging conditions each including an exposure time te of the imaging sensor and a lighting time tr of the pulsed LED, stores respective combinations of brightness index values D1 of respective images obtained by the respective imagings and the imaging conditions of the respective images, obtains estimates of exposure contribution degree k_off indicating degree of influence of variation of the exposure time te on brightness index value and a lighting contribution degree k_on indicating degree of influence of variation of the lighting time tr on brightness index value, based on the stored combinations of the brightness index values D1 and the imaging conditions, and determines an imaging condition to be used in the next imaging based on the estimates of k_on and k_off.
PRINTER AND PRINTING SYSTEM
A printer has a print engine to print images represented by a series of print data on the plurality of printing areas one by one. When an image printed on the printing area is determined to be a low quality image, the controller stops printing and reprint an image corresponding to the low quality image and images corresponding to discard-target images which are being printed or having been printed on the printing areas located upstream in the feeding direction with respect to the printing area on which the NG image has been printed on a new printing area located upstream in the feeding direction with respect to a printing position of the print engine in an order of the print data. The particular image printer is configured to overprint the particular image on the printing area on which the NG image or the discard-target image is printed.
IMAGE READING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE READING METHOD
An image reading device includes a reading unit, a background member, and processing circuitry. The reading unit includes alight source to emit light to a passage area through which an object passes and an imaging device to capture reflected light of the light emitted to generate a visible image and an invisible image. The background member is disposed opposite the light source across the passage area. The processing circuitry is configured to: detect a change in an image characteristic due to a change in an optical characteristic of the reading unit, in invisible images obtained by capturing of invisible marks on the background member; determine a correction amount of an image characteristic to be used for correcting an image of the object generated by the imaging device, based on the change in the image characteristic detected; and correct the image characteristic based on the correction amount determined.
Document placement detecting device, image reading device, image forming apparatus, method, and non-transitory recording medium
A document placement detecting device includes a document table, a plate, a plurality of invisible light sources, an imaging device, and circuitry. The document table transmits light. The plate is openable and closable relative to the document table, and covers the document table in a closed state of the plate. The plurality of invisible light sources irradiate a placement area with invisible light via the document table. The placement area is an area of the document table on which a document is placed. The imaging device receives reflected light from the document, and outputs read data. The circuitry detects the placement of the document with a change in a read value of the read data output from the imaging device based on the irradiation with the invisible light.
Image reading apparatus and image forming apparatus
An image reading apparatus includes a stacking tray, a feeding roller, a restricting member configured to move to a restricting position and a retracted position, a reading sensor, a reversing roller configured to perform a reversing operation, a first conveyance path, a second conveyance, and a controller. The controller is configured to permit the reversing operation if the controller receives an execution instruction of a double-sided reading job on a sheet having a first size, and prohibit the reversing operation if the controller receives an execution instruction of the double-sided reading job on a sheet having a second size smaller than the first size.
IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE
An image processing device includes: an estimated size setting section (ACS determination section 151) which sets a document size of a document sheet as an estimated size; a threshold deciding section (ACS determination section 151) which decides a first threshold according to the estimated size; and an ACS determination section (151) which determines that the document sheet is a color document sheet when a number of color pixels reaches the first threshold. When an actual size of the document sheet is smaller than the estimated size, the threshold deciding section decides a second threshold which is smaller than the first threshold, and the document sheet is determined to be a color document sheet when the number of color pixels is the second threshold or greater and is determined to be a black-and-white document sheet when the number of color pixels is smaller than the second threshold.
