According to one embodiment, an image reading device includes a scanner configured to read documents that have a plurality of pages and generate image data for each page scanned. A display unit displays the preview images based on the image data from the scanner. An input unit is configured to receive input operations from a user. A controller is configured to cause the display unit to display preview images for pages of a document. The preview images are initially displayed as selected preview images or non-selected preview images according to whether the page corresponding to the preview image satisfies a filter condition or not. Each displayed preview image is selectable and deselectable by an input operation received via the input unit. The controller is further configured to generate a file including image data for the pages corresponding to the selected preview images.

An image reading system including a blank paper removal function includes a preview display processing unit configured to preview-display at least a portion of an image among images of a read document in a selectable state on a display unit, a display switching unit configured to switch a display mode of an image to a selected state in which a blank paper removal candidate or a non-removal candidate is selected when the image is selected by an operation of an input unit, a data generation unit, and a blank paper removal level setting unit. The data generation unit generates reading data based on remaining image data obtained by removing image data of a blank paper removal target including the confirmed blank paper removal candidate from image data of the document when the selected state is confirmed by an operation of an input unit.
Image reading apparatus
An image reading apparatus includes a transport unit which transports a document, and reading units which read an image of the document which is transported. It is assumed that an operation of reading an image when specific setting information is not input to a control device of the image reading apparatus is set to a first reading mode, and an operation of reading an image when specific setting information is input to the control device is set to a second reading mode. In this case, in the second reading mode, image data of an image with a resolution which is equal to that in the first reading mode is generated, while causing the reading units to read an image from a document which is transported by the transport device at a lower speed than that in the first reading mode.

In accordance with an embodiment, an image processing apparatus includes an image reading section configured to read an original document and generate image data, the image data corresponding to the original document or a part of the original document. The image processing apparatus further includes a control panel including a document area for displaying a plurality of images, the plurality of images including an image which corresponds to the image data. The control panel is configured to receive input designating the image corresponding to the image data and at least one other image from the plurality of images. The image processing apparatus also includes a controller, which in response to an instruction, generates an aggregation image including the image corresponding to the image data and the at least one other image from the plurality of images.

An image reading apparatus includes a transport unit which transports a document, and reading units which read an image of the document which is transported. The first program causes the first information processing apparatus to start the second program, and register the started second program, as a virtual scanner, in an operating system of the first information processing apparatus. The second program causes the first information processing apparatus to transmit a scan command of the first protocol to the external scanner, and receive a read result from the external scanner by the first protocol through the communication interface. The external scanner reads a document in response to receipt of the scan command transmitted from the information processing apparatus.

An image processing apparatus includes a light source, an image sensor, and an invisible component remover. The light source emits visible component light and invisible component light to a target object. The image sensor receives reflected light from the target object to detect a visible invisible mixture image including an invisible component and a visible component and an invisible image including an invisible component. The invisible component remover, based on the visible invisible mixture image and the invisible image which have been detected, removes the invisible component from the visible invisible mixture image to generate a visible image. The invisible component remover includes a removal calculator performing a removal calculation process of an invisible component with respect to the visible invisible mixture image, and a noise reducer performing a noise reduction process on at least one of images to be input to and output from the removal calculator.
