IMAGE READING APPARATUS, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, METHOD FOR DETECTING FOREIGN SUBSTANCE, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
An image reading apparatus includes a light source to emit at least light in a first wavelength range and light in a second wavelength range, a background member having different light reflectances in the first and second wavelength ranges, an imaging device, and circuitry. The imaging device receives reflected light from the background member irradiated with the light in the first wavelength range, and generates first read information. The imaging device further receives reflected light from the background member irradiated with the light in the second wavelength range, and generates second read information. The circuitry detects presence or absence of a first foreign substance based on a difference in reading level of the first read information generated by the imaging device; and detect presence or absence of a second foreign substance based on a difference in reading level of the second read information generated by the imaging device.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND MULTI-SHEET FEED DETECTION METHOD
An image reading apparatus includes a control unit configured to detect occurrence or non-occurrence of multi-sheet feed of a medium based on a reception level signal output by a reception unit in accordance with the received ultrasonic wave. The control unit, after a tip of the medium reaches the positions of the reception unit in a transport path, when the reception level signal is below a predetermined threshold, causes the driving voltage to rise, when an amount of change in the reception level signal in accordance with the rise in the driving voltage is smaller than a reference amount of change, determines that multi-sheet feed is ongoing, and when the amount of change in the reception level signal in accordance with the rise in the driving voltage is greater than the reference amount of change, determines that multi-sheet feed is not ongoing.
Temperature based control for document reading apparatus
In a case where a temperature detected by a detector is greater than a threshold, one or more processors controls a light source not to emit light and stops conveyance of a document by a conveyance unit. In a case where a predetermined amount of time has elapsed from when the one or more processors controls the light source not to emit the light, the one or more processors controls the light source to emit the light and starts conveyance of the document by the conveyance unit, regardless of a detection result of the detector.
Reading device conveying and reading original document including a plurality of original sheets set in stacked state and detecting occurrence of a double-feed of double-fed sheets
In a reading device, a controller performs: detecting occurrence of a double-feed; executing a double-feed process; detecting a state of double-fed sheets; executing a first process when a command is inputted; and executing a second process when the command is not inputted. The double feed process includes: halting conveyance of an original document; and making notification of the occurrence of the double-feed. The first process performs, in accordance with the command, one of: resuming the conveyance of the original document; and quitting the conveyance of the original document. The second process performs, in accordance with a determination result, one of: resuming the conveyance of the original document; and continuing the halting and the making. The resuming is performed when the determination result indicates that the conveyance of the original document is possible. The continuing is performed when the determination result indicates that the conveyance of the original document is impossible.
Image reading device and image forming apparatus
Provided is an image reading device including: a document pressing portion that is attached to an apparatus body and configured to open or close to the apparatus body to press a document in between; and an opening force applying unit that applies a drive force of a drive source to the document pressing portion as an opening force to open the document pressing portion temporarily in a period of opening the document pressing portion.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to acquire, from a read image, a predetermined item, and a value corresponding to the item, the read image being obtained by reading a document and being subjected, prior to acquisition of the item and the value, to preprocessing and character recognition. Further, the processor is configured to, in response to not successfully acquiring at least one of the item and the value, change a setting on the preprocessing or a setting on the character recognition in accordance with the acquisition or non-acquisition state of the item and the value, and then perform the preprocessing or the character recognition.
Printing abnormality detection system and method with display based on necessity determination criteria
A printing abnormality detection system includes a printer that prints an image on a printing medium based on image data, a reader that reads the image printed on the printing medium, a processing unit that detects an abnormal printed portion based on read image data from the reader, a storage unit that stores information of a display necessity determination criterion, and a display unit. The processing unit determines, based on the image data, the read image data, and the display necessity determination criterion, whether the abnormal printed portion is to be displayed on the display unit. When the processing unit determines that the abnormal printed portion is to be displayed, the processing unit executes a process of displaying, on the display unit, abnormal printed portion information including an image of the abnormal printed portion.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS
An upper unit includes a feed tray configured to support a document to be fed such that the document is inclined, a transport path configured to reverse the document fed in a direction having a vertically downward component by a feed tray in a direction having a vertically upward component, a first reader disposed on the transport path, and a discharge tray configured to support the discharged document such that the document is inclined. A lower unit includes a document positioning plate on which a document is mounted, and includes a second reader disposed vertically below the document positioning plate and configured to read the document mounted on the document positioning plate. A portion of the first reader and a portion of the document positioning plate overlap when viewed from vertically above.
Reading device, stain display method, and display device
A reading device includes a main body section, a cover configured to be opened and closed with respect to the main body section, a transport path constructed by the main body section and the cover, a roller that transports an original document, a glass plate arranged on the transport path, and a reading section that performs reading by receiving light through the glass plate, a display section, and a control section, and the control section causes the display section to display a device image in which a stain corresponding region corresponding to a position of the stain on the glass plate is specified in a glass plate image region expressing the glass plate, the device image being an image depicting the reading device in a state where the cover is opened and a configuration including a part of the transport path, the roller, and the glass plate is exposed.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND INSPECTION METHOD OF IMAGE READING SECTION
Provided are an image forming apparatus and an inspection method of an image reading section capable of precisely detecting dirt that adheres to a dustproof glass. The image forming apparatus is provided with an image forming section, an image reading section, and a controlling section. The image reading section has a light source, a sensor, and a dustproof glass. At the time of the compensation processing operation of the image reading section, the controlling section detects dirt on the dustproof glass on the basis of a detection value acquired by the sensor when light is emitted from the light source onto a reflective member for compensation that specularly reflects the light.
