READING DEVICE, STAIN DISPLAY METHOD, AND DISPLAY DEVICE
A reading device includes a main body section, a cover configured to be opened and closed with respect to the main body section, a transport path constructed by the main body section and the cover, a roller that transports an original document, a glass plate arranged on the transport path, and a reading section that performs reading by receiving light through the glass plate, a display section, and a control section, and the control section causes the display section to display a device image in which a stain corresponding region corresponding to a position of the stain on the glass plate is specified in a glass plate image region expressing the glass plate, the device image being an image depicting the reading device in a state where the cover is opened and a configuration including a part of the transport path, the roller, and the glass plate is exposed.
READING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD
A reading apparatus includes a conveyance roller configured to convey a medium, a reading unit configured to read an image of the medium conveyed by the conveyance roller, a detection unit configured to detect a rotation phase of the conveyance roller, a storage unit configured to store index values, each index value being associated with the rotation phase of the conveyance roller and corresponding to a conveyance amount of the conveyance roller per unit rotation angle, and a timing control circuit configured to select the index value based on a detection result of the detection unit and to control a reading timing of the reading unit based on a result of comparing a cumulative value of selected index values with a threshold corresponding to a reading resolution.
Image reading apparatus which prevents damage to documents to be read which are thicker than regular paper
A conveyance path for a document (D) has a first conveyance path (R1) that turns back midway and a second conveyance path (R2) that extends rectilinearly. When the document (D) is of a particular type, if a setting to use the first conveyance path (R1) has been made, a control section (4) has a warning message (MS1) displayed.
DOCUMENT READING APPARATUS
A document reading apparatus including: a detector configured to detect presence of a document on a document tray; a conveyance unit configured to convey the document; a reading unit configured to read the document conveyed by the conveyance unit at a first position; and a reference member. When the detector detects the presence of a document, the reading unit reads the reference member to determine a shading correction value while being moved from a second position to a third position located between the first position and the second position. When the shading correction value is to be determined again in a period from when the shading correction value is determined until when a receiver receives an instruction to start reading, the reading unit reads the reference member while being moved from the second position toward the first position after having been moved from the third position to the second position.
Image reading apparatus and image reading method
The controller of the image reading apparatus acquires second reference data indicating a reading value of a background plate by causing the reading unit to read the background plate during a non-document-reading period between a document-reading period and a document-reading period, calculates a first difference indicating a difference between a value in a first pixel range corresponding to an element group, among the plurality of photoelectric conversion elements, in a range under temperature influence by a given heat generation source and a value in a second pixel range, that is, part of a pixel range which does not fall under the first pixel range with respect to the second reference data, and updates, when the first difference exceeds a first allowable value, the first reference data by correcting a value in the first pixel range of the first reference data based on the first difference.
Image Capturing Devices and Associated Methods
Portable devices for capturing images of a surface of a building material and associated methods are disclosed. In some embodiments, the portable device includes (i) a housing, (ii) an image sensor positioned in the housing and configured to capture images of the surface at multiple time points when the housing is moved along a trajectory on the surface; (iii) a lighting component configured to illuminate the surface; (iv) an encoder configured to measure a distance travelled by the housing; and (v) a controller communicably coupled to the image sensor and the encoder. The controller instructs the image sensor to capture the images of the surface at least partially based on the measured distance travelled by the housing.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD OF IMAGE READING APPARATUS
To provide an image reading apparatus capable of informing a user of the status of the image reading apparatus in a form understandable to the user without increasing a size or a cost, a control method of the image reading apparatus, and a program, explanatory image data is transmitted to a host computer instead of document image data in a case where an abnormality in the image reading apparatus is detected.
Heat detection system for monitoring of over-heating in an apparatus
A system and process provide an improvement to monitoring over-heating of components in an apparatus. Embodiments include a thermal sensor which may be coupled with a filter. A controller may store over-heat values for components in the apparatus. In response to a sensor signal detecting an over-heat threshold exceeded, the controller may trigger an alert. Detection of an over-heating event may trigger shutdown of the component or the entire device or system before damage occurs or escalates to other components. In some embodiments, the range of detection by sensors monitoring the same component may be extended by coupling each sensor with a different filter so that a wider range of heat signatures are available. Aspects of the method may select which sensor/filter combination has a best range of detection based on the number of pixels registering over or under a threshold value.
Image forming system for communicating with mobile terminal and setting mode of image forming apparatus
An image forming system includes an image forming apparatus and a mobile terminal. The image forming apparatus forms an image on paper. The mobile terminal communicates with the image forming apparatus through a communication network. Mode information is inputted to the image forming apparatus from an external device. The mode information indicates a quiet mode in which an image is formed at a predetermined formation speed, or a normal mode in which the image is formed at a faster formation speed than the quiet mode. The quiet mode is settable on the mobile terminal. The image forming apparatus forms an image in the quiet mode when the mode information inputted from the external device indicates the normal mode and setting information indicating the quiet mode is acquired from the mobile terminal.
