When a multi-feed of the document is detected by the multi-feed detection unit, the controller multi-feeds causes the transport unit to discharge, downstream of the transport path, a multi-fed document for which the multi-feed is detected and then temporarily stops the transport, stores multi-fed page information indicating a page number of the multi-fed document, restarts the transport after the temporary stop, and after the reading unit reads a remaining document whose page succeeds a page of the multi-fed document, performs a re-reading process including the transporting and the reading of the multi-fed document, respectively, and inserts, based on the multi-fed page information, second read data acquired by the reading in the re-reading process into first read data acquired by the reading completed before the re-reading process.

An image reading apparatus includes a read size determination circuit. The read size determination circuit has a plurality of operation mode including a first mode and a second mode. The first mode determines the size of the document detected by the first document reading unit as a first read size and determines a read size of the document set in advance as a second read size. The first read size is the read size of the document when the first document reading unit reads the document. The second mode determines the size of the document detected by the first document reading unit as the first read size. If the second document reading unit reads the document, the second mode determines the read size of the document set in the setting screen as the second read size when a start instruction of a reading job is entered using the operation circuit.

The automatic continuous read-in condition is that table reading-in has been started in a state where a destination corresponding to a particular transmission method is set.

An information processing apparatus includes a controller that performs control so that a specific operation among operations performed on a second operation unit is invalidated in a state where an operation performed on a first operation unit is valid.

An apparatus includes a volatile first storage and a nonvolatile second storage with a limited number of writes, and the apparatus includes a printer configured to execute printing based on image data, and a controller having one or more processors which execute instructions stored in one or more memories, the controller being configured to acquire information about a number of writes of the second storage, and switch between a first operating mode of storing the image data in the second storage and a second operating mode of storing the image data in the first storage and not storing the image data in the second storage based on the information about the number of writes.

An image reading apparatus includes a light source to emit at least light in a first wavelength range and light in a second wavelength range, a background member having different light reflectances in the first and second wavelength ranges, an imaging device, and circuitry. The imaging device receives reflected light from the background member irradiated with the light in the first wavelength range, and generates first read information. The imaging device further receives reflected light from the background member irradiated with the light in the second wavelength range, and generates second read information. The circuitry detects presence or absence of a first foreign substance based on a difference in reading level of the first read information generated by the imaging device; and detect presence or absence of a second foreign substance based on a difference in reading level of the second read information generated by the imaging device.

An image reading apparatus includes a conveyance unit and a reading unit. Based on read image data from the reading unit, a tilt amount of an edge of a document on a leading edge side in a conveyance direction in which the document is conveyed is decided. If the decided tilt amount exceeds a first threshold where a setting that performs document digitalization with respect to the image data, notification is given of information indicating that reading of the document for the document digitalization has failed. If the decided tilt amount is smaller than the first threshold, skew correction is executed for correcting the tilt amount based on the decided tilt amount with respect to the image data, and the document digitalization is executed with respect to the image data for which the skew correction has been executed.
