Provided is an image forming apparatus to control capturing of an execution screen displayed. A memory stores at least one application. A user interface device displays an execution screen of an application, to which a user is logged in with an identification (ID) of the user, and receives an input of capturing the execution screen. A processor determines an authority of the ID of the user to capture the execution screen by comparing a security level of the execution screen set based on the data displayed on the execution screen and a security level of the user set with respect to the ID of the user. The processor, in response to the input, controls the capturing of the execution screen, based on the determined authority of the ID of the first user.

An authentication system includes a shared terminal; and at least one information processing apparatus coupled to the shared terminal via a communication network. The shared terminal includes an authentication controller configured to, upon detecting that the shared terminal is activated, acquire authentication screen data, from the at least one information processing apparatus, for authentication performed for using an internal function of the shared terminal, display an authentication screen based on the acquired authentication screen data, and transmit, to the at least one information processing apparatus, input information that is input to the displayed authentication screen by a user; and an internal function operator configured to display a screen for using the internal function of the shared terminal, upon acquiring information indicating that an authentication process, which is performed based on the input information at the at least one information processing apparatus, is successful.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to: select an object which is a transmission candidate using (i) attributes of objects managed in a project including plural processes and (ii) an attribute of a user who instructs an operation relating to transmission of an object, generate, for the object which is the transmission candidate, image information obtained by imaging transmission information used for the transmission of the object, and output the generated image information.

A processing apparatus includes: a processing unit that performs plural predetermined processes; a display unit; a creation unit that creates a first process receiving portion and a second process receiving portion, each of which receives an instruction to any one of the plural predetermined processes on the display unit; and an execution portion that executes the process, in a case where the instruction is received by the first process receiving portion, after receiving the instruction again, whereas, in a case where the instruction is received by the second process receiving portion, the execution portion executing the process without receiving the instruction again.

Printing devices (or output controllers) supporting printing over air or wireless network printing or Internet printing, are herein disclosed and enabled. The printing device may include wireless communication chips or chipsets supporting part of IEEE 802.11 standards for (1) connecting to a wireless local area network (LAN) to establish communication with a client that is in the wireless LAN; (2) transmitting device information related to the printing device from the printing device to the client; and (3) receiving print data from the client over the wireless LAN for printing at the printing device. The print data is based on the device information transmitted to the client. A printer driver specific to the printing device may or may not be necessary for printing to the printing device. The printing device may require registration with a service over a network prior to providing printing services to the client.

Mobile device or mobile software configured for wirelessly managing or wirelessly setting up an output system are herein disclosed and enabled. Examples of mobile devices include smart phones and information pads having a touch sensitive screen. The mobile software, which is executable at the mobile device, causes the mobile device to: wirelessly discover the output system that is within physical proximity to the mobile device; receive, via the touch sensitive screen and from a user, selection of an item related to the wirelessly discovered output system; establish a wireless communication link between the mobile device and the output system; and wirelessly transmit security information or authentication information to the output system for setting up the output system for service. The mobile software may further facilitate management of settings of the output system and may further wirelessly drive or control the output system over the wireless communication link.

An image forming apparatus includes an image reading device, a printing device, a specific character string detector, and a controller. The specific character string detector extracts a specific area image, enlarges the specific area image, executes character recognition processing on the enlarged specific area image to detect a character string, and determines whether or not the detected character string includes a predetermined specific character string. The controller prohibits copying of the document image when the predetermined specific character string is included in the detected character string. The size of the specific character string before enlargement is smaller than a lower limit character string size of character recognition in the character recognition processing, and the size of the specific character string after enlargement is equal to or larger than the lower limit character string size of character recognition in the character recognition processing.

The present disclosure provides an image management method and apparatus, and a storage medium. The method includes: receiving a download request of a first client device for a first image, and verifying whether the first client device has a download authorization of the first image; in response to the first client device having the download authorization, adding an encryption mark to the first image by using identity information of the first client device to obtain a second image; generating a download identification code for uniquely identifying the second image, and storing the download identification code; and transmitting the second image to the first client device.

Information apparatus that wirelessly discovers an output device, which is available within close physical vicinity for outputting digital content, is herein disclosed and enabled. The information apparatus includes wireless communication circuitry for establishing short range wireless communication between the information apparatus and the output device. The information apparatus wirelessly receives information from the output device that has been wirelessly discovered, and determines, from the information received, whether the output device matches a requirement for outputting digital content. When the requirement is matched, the information apparatus selects the discovered output device, conforms at least part of the content into output data, and transmits at least part of the output data over the short range wireless communication from the information apparatus to the selected output device. The information apparatus may include one or more of a smart phone, information pad, a digital camera, or an Internet appliance.

An electronic device includes a display, a first camera, a storage unit, and a control unit. The first camera images a face of a user who is operating the electronic device. The storage unit stores an image imaged by the first camera. The control unit includes a processor and, upon execution of a control program by the processor, functions as: a detection section detecting that a suspicious operation is being performed on the electronic device; and a controller allowing, when the detection section detects the suspicious operation, the display to display, as an image to be displayed in occurrence of the suspicious operation, the image that the first camera is imaging.
