According to an embodiment, an information processing system includes a device, and a service providing system. The device includes predetermined functions. The service providing system executes an application having execution order of programs defined therefor so as to execute a processing flow using one or more of the predetermined functions. The service providing system includes a management unit, and a screen configuring unit. The management unit generates application information having metadata information and the application associated with each other, the metadata information being associated with a user who uses the application and used when the application is executed. The screen configuring unit generates, when the application is executed, based on the application information, a user interface that receives setup operation related to metadata corresponding to the metadata information in the application.

An information processing system having an information processing apparatus and programs includes an application memory unit storing applications executing a series of processes using electronic data, in which program identification information, parameter setup information, and flow identification information are defined, a use screen memory unit storing use screen information of defining a form; a first receiving unit receiving a first request including the application identification information; a first sending unit sending the use screen information; a second receiving unit, an acquiring unit acquiring the flow information identified by the flow identification information included in the second request, and an executing unit causing the program identified by the flow information to be executed using the parameter included in the second request in conformity with the execution order to execute the series of processes using the electronic data based on the information related to the electronic data.

An information processing system includes a device having one or more functions and a service providing system configured to execute an application in which an execution order of programs is defined to execute a process flow using at least one of the one or more functions. The service providing system includes circuitry configured to: acquire device information regarding the device from the device based on setting information input by a user via an operation device provided with the device; and execute the process flow for processing the acquired device information.

An information processing system includes a plurality of programs, each executing a predetermined process. The information processing system includes a memory and circuitry. The memory stores, for each of applications, each executing a series of processes using electronic data, an application associating flow information with application setting information. The flow information defines program identification information and an execution order. The application setting information defines parameter setting information, group setting information, and flow identification information. The memory further stores use screen information in association with application identification information. The circuitry: receives a first request including the application identification information from a device; transmits the use screen information and the application setting information to the device; receives a second request including the parameters, information on electronic data, and the flow identification information; acquires the flow information; and executes the programs in accordance with the execution order by using the parameters.

A first information processing system resides on a first network and communicably connected with a second information processing system that resides on a second network, the second network being different from the first network. The first information processing system includes circuitry configured to perform one or more processes among a plurality of processes included in a first workflow; perform a link processing process of requesting the second information processing system to execute a second workflow including another plurality of processes to be executed in series, the another plurality of processes included in the second workflow being different from the plurality of processes included in the first workflow; receive an execution result of the second workflow from the second information processing system; and perform another one or more processes among the plurality of processes included in the first workflow based on the execution result of the second workflow.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium stores computer-readable instructions for a processor to perform a first and second processes. The first process comprises: generating first scan data; acquiring a first feature data set indicating features of the first scan data; selecting using the first feature data set as input data, one or more of target workflow parameter sets according to a selection procedure based on selection criteria indicated by selection criteria data; and executing a process on the first scan data according to one of the selected one or more target workflow parameter sets. The second process comprises: acquiring a workflow parameter set; generating second scan data; acquiring a second feature data set indicating features of the second scan data; and updating the selection criteria data to add the workflow parameter set to the target workflow parameter sets and to reflect the second feature data set in the selection criteria data.
