An information processing system includes a plurality of programs, each executing a predetermined process. The information processing system includes a memory and circuitry. The memory stores, for each of applications, each executing a series of processes using electronic data, an application associating flow information with application setting information. The flow information defines program identification information and an execution order. The application setting information defines parameter setting information, group setting information, and flow identification information. The memory further stores use screen information in association with application identification information. The circuitry: receives a first request including the application identification information from a device; transmits the use screen information and the application setting information to the device; receives a second request including the parameters, information on electronic data, and the flow identification information; acquires the flow information; and executes the programs in accordance with the execution order by using the parameters.

An information processing system having an information processing apparatus and programs includes an application memory unit storing applications executing a series of processes using electronic data, in which program identification information, parameter setup information, and flow identification information are defined, a use screen memory unit storing use screen information of defining a form; a first receiving unit receiving a first request including the application identification information; a first sending unit sending the use screen information; a second receiving unit, an acquiring unit acquiring the flow information identified by the flow identification information included in the second request, and an executing unit causing the program identified by the flow information to be executed using the parameter included in the second request in conformity with the execution order to execute the series of processes using the electronic data based on the information related to the electronic data.

An approach provides sending captured Superbill image data and output data generated based on results of parsing the captured Superbill image data to an external system which manages Superbill data using a cloud system. The cloud system creates parsing rule data for parsing a captured Superbill image in accordance with user operation at a client device. The cloud system receives, via one or more computer networks from an input device, captured Superbill image data. The cloud system parses the received image data based on the created parsing rule and generates output data based on results of parsing. The cloud system sends the generated output data and the received image data to the external system via the one or more computer networks.

A method and system for operating an appliance scanner system. A device can maintain at least two isolated communication channels, one to connect to a configuration service and others for connecting to document processing and management services. This can enable the configuration service to reside outside of a secure network. Firewalls and policies can prevent content generated at the scanner from exiting the secure network and reaching the configuration service. To set up the scanner, it can be initiated and connect to the configuration service via a operations communication channel. The configuration service can then instruct the scanner how to connect to various document services through one or more generated content communication channels. Furthermore, document services can communicate validation information back to the scanner.

In a multifunction peripheral (MFP), an information processing apparatus includes an execution unit configured to execute a series of processing operations of the MFP including a plurality of processes by combining a plurality of extension programs according to a definition file that defines the series of processing operations, and a determination unit configured to determine a design of a user interface that is used in common by the plurality of extension programs executing the respective processes of the series of processing operations, wherein the plurality of extension programs has respective designs of user interfaces.

This invention provides a data processing apparatus operable to execute processing requested by an application, where the apparatus comprises a processing unit configured to, if there is an instruction for processing, execute the processing in accordance with a command list indicated by the instruction; and a control unit configured to, upon receiving a request for processing from the application, generate a command list corresponding to the request and instruct the processing unit to perform the processing, wherein the processing unit comprises a switching unit configured to, upon receiving, from the control unit, a second instruction during execution of a command list for a first instruction, switch to execution of a command list for the second instruction at a timing of execution of a command that is a control point preset in the command list for the first instruction.

The printer performs a preceding operation corresponding to the preceding operation command.

The first information processing apparatus includes a first storage unit configured to store a first program that has been developed at a first region and a first processor configured to implement processes of receiving, via a network, a second program that has been developed at a second region and stored in the second information processing apparatus, and generating a program product unit including at least one selected program that has been selected by a user from among the first program stored in the first storage unit and the second program received via the network.
