Image scanning apparatus
In a scanning apparatus, a controller is configured to obtain black reference data, compensated data based on digital data (scan data) by scanning a reference member with the light source turned off, and the black reference data. The controller further compares the compensated data with a first particular value. The controller executes the compensated data obtaining process with setting the light amount adjustment value to be a smaller value when the compensated data is greater than the first particular value, while with setting the light amount adjustment value to be a greater value when the compensated data is less than the first particular value. Further, the controller sets the light amount adjustment value to be a scan-time light amount adjustment value when the light amount adjustment value is equal to the first particular value. Then, the controller executes a scanning process according to the scan-time light amount adjustment value.
PARTIAL INFORMATION CAPTURE AND PROCESSING
Embodiments of the present invention relate to a machine, a method and a computer program product for partial information capture and processing. A touch input that draws a pattern can be detected on a lid of a machine, where the lid is touch-sensitive and is operable to cover an object to be processed. Specifically, the lid allows a user to see at least a part of the object. In response to detecting the touch input on the lid, a part of the object is identified based on the pattern. Then the machine generates a processing result that only contains the identified part of the object.
Image Reading Apparatus and Image Reading Method That Reduce Error in Color Reproduction Due to Variation in Light Source Unit, and Recording Medium Therefor
An image reading apparatus includes a light source unit and an image reading unit. The light source unit radiates white light containing a light having a first spectrum and a light having a second spectrum. The image reading unit generates image data in accordance with light reflected from the original document. The reflected light contains the light having the first spectrum and the light having the second spectrum. The image reading unit determines a correction value for calibrating a light amount of the light having the first spectrum as a ratio of a calibration reference value to a reflection light amount of the light having the first spectrum from a calibration document advance-prepared for calibration of the light having the second spectrum. The calibration reference value is set as a reference reflection light amount of the light having the first spectrum.
LENS MIRROR ARRAY
A lens mirror array includes a plurality of optical elements arrayed in a main scanning direction. Each of the optical elements includes an incident surface, at least one reflection surface, and an emission surface. The incident surface transmits and converges light made incident thereon. The reflection surface has positive optical power for reflecting and converging the light made incident via the incident surface. The emission surface emits the light reflected by the reflection surface. The lens mirror array includes a plurality of grooves and a light blocking member. The plurality of grooves are provided among a plurality of the reflection surfaces arranged in the main scanning direction of the plurality of optical elements. The light blocking member is provided in the plurality of grooves.
Original reading apparatus for reading image of an original
A light guide includes a plurality of boss portions. A round hole portion is provided near the center of a base member for fixing the light guide, and slit portions are provided on both ends thereof. The round hole portion supports one boss portion in both the longitudinal direction and the lateral direction of the light guide. The slit portions support boss portions in the lateral direction of the light guide, but are free in the longitudinal direction of the light guide. That is, the center of the light guide is fixed from both directions, and thus both ends of the light guides can expand away in the longitudinal direction. This cuts the influence of expansion by half.
Image Reading Apparatus Configured to Read Document
An image reading apparatus includes a gray reference member, a reading unit, an adjusting unit, a calibration unit, a storage unit, and a control unit. The control unit is configured to execute a first preprocessing and a second preprocessing. The first preprocessing includes: acquiring first black data from one line worth of image data; acquiring white data; calculating white-black difference data; acquiring first light gray data; and calculating first light gray-black difference data. The second processing includes: acquiring second black data from the one line worth of the image data; acquiring second light gray data; calculating second light gray-black difference data; calculating a change ratio by dividing the second light gray-black difference data by the first light gray-black difference data; and calculating calibration data by multiplying the white-black difference data by the change ratio. Shading of the image data is calibrated in response to the calibration data.
