READING APPARATUS, READING METHOD, AND READING PROGRAM
A reading apparatus that reads a sheet includes: a first light emitting diode (LED) configured to emit light with a specific wavelength; a light emitting element including a second LED configured to emit light with the specific wavelength and a phosphor configured to be excited by the light emitted from the second LED; a line sensor configured to generate a reference signal according to a quantity of received light emitted from the first LED and reflected off the sheet, and also generate an image signal according to a quantity of received light emitted from the light emitting element and reflected off the sheet; and a controller configured to generate an image representing the sheet from a differential result obtained by removing a component corresponding to the reference signal from the image signal.
LENS BODY BONDING STRUCTURE, IMAGE READING DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR BONDING LENS BODY
A first lens body and a second lens body are fixed to, using an adhesive layer, a surface of a lens fixing plate determined by intersection of a straight line in an optical axis direction and a straight line in a longitudinal direction, such that the lens fixing plate in which a lens fixing plate opening is formed in a lateral direction overlaps, when viewed in the lateral direction, at least a portion of a junction at which the first lens body and the second lens body are bonded to each other. A first adjustment member is brought into contact with the first lens body via at least one hole into which the first adjustment member is inserted A second adjustment member is brought into contact with the second lens body via at least one hole and into which the second adjustment member is inserted.
IMAGE READING APPARATUS, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, METHOD FOR DETECTING FOREIGN SUBSTANCE, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
An image reading apparatus includes a light source to emit at least light in a first wavelength range and light in a second wavelength range, a background member having different light reflectances in the first and second wavelength ranges, an imaging device, and circuitry. The imaging device receives reflected light from the background member irradiated with the light in the first wavelength range, and generates first read information. The imaging device further receives reflected light from the background member irradiated with the light in the second wavelength range, and generates second read information. The circuitry detects presence or absence of a first foreign substance based on a difference in reading level of the first read information generated by the imaging device; and detect presence or absence of a second foreign substance based on a difference in reading level of the second read information generated by the imaging device.
Optical linear sensor unit
A reflective member is disposed on the optical path from the linear light source to the lens array. An ultraviolet light blocking filter is provided closer to a light-receiving unit than the reflective member. A color filter is provided closer to the light-receiving unit than the ultraviolet light blocking filter. A light-receiving surface of the light-receiving unit has a first region opposed to the reflective member without the ultraviolet light blocking filter and the color filter interposed therebetween, a second region opposed to the reflective member and the ultraviolet light blocking filter without the color filter interposed therebetween, and a third region opposed to the reflective member, the ultraviolet light blocking filter, and the color filter.
Line sensor, image reading device, and image forming apparatus
In a line sensor including color filters that are periodically disposed in a light-receiving-element row, a problem called a “mixture of colors” occurs. A “mixture of colors” occurs when light that has been transmitted through a color filter differing from a color filter corresponding to a light receiving element is incident upon the light receiving element. In a CMOS sensor 107 including a light-receiving-element row in which a plurality of photodiodes 1204 are disposed side by side in a main scanning direction and a plurality of color filters 1202 that are disposed in correspondence with the plurality of photodiodes 1204, the center of each color filter 1202 is displaced in a direction of the center of the light-receiving-element row from the center of the photodiode 1204 corresponding to the color filter.

INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS
An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to convert the values of pixels in a glossy region of process target image data by inputting the process target image data to a first learning unit that has been trained using, as first learning data, first read image data and second read image data so as to convert the first read image data into the second read image data. The glossy region corresponds to a glossy portion of a document. The first read image data include the glossy region, and are obtained by optically reading the document in a first reading environment in which the light amount of regularly reflected light from a learning data document acquired by an image sensor is less than a regularly reflected light amount threshold. The second read image data include the glossy region, and are obtained by optically reading the document in a second reading environment in which the light amount of the regularly reflected light acquired by the image sensor is equal to or more than the regularly reflected light amount threshold. The process target image data are obtained by optically reading a process target document in the first reading environment.
