IMAGE READING APPARATUS
An image reading apparatus according to the present invention includes: a conveyor which conveys an original in a first direction; a light transmitting member which is provided with coating in a first region of a surface facing the original; a reading unit which reads an image at a reading position of the original through the light transmitting member; and a controller which performs processing on the image and which changes the reading position by moving the reading unit when abnormality is detected in the processing. The coating includes a silicon-containing perfluoropolyether compound. An electrically-conductive member is provided in a second region located on the surface of the light transmitting member, upstream of the first region in a conveyance direction of the original. A contact angle of the coating at a position corresponding to the reading position in the first region is appropriately set.

An image reading apparatus according to the present invention includes: a conveyor which conveys an original in a first direction; a light transmitting member which is provided with coating in a first region of a surface facing the original; a reading unit which reads an image at a reading position of the original through the light transmitting member; and a controller which performs processing on the image and which changes the reading position by moving the reading unit when abnormality is detected in the processing. An image reading apparatus that controls relative positions of a carriage and a document in a first direction using a motor, so as to read an image of the document on a line by line basis, the carriage being mounted with an image sensor and a light source. The image reading apparatus detects an amount of movement caused by the motor in the first direction and generates a first trigger signal in response to input of a synchronization signal generated in accordance with the detected amount of movement, the first trigger signal instructing to start accumulation of charge in the image sensor, and, after a predetermined amount of time since the synchronization signal used for generating the first trigger signal is input, generates a second trigger signal, the second trigger signal instructing to end accumulation of the charge being accumulated in the image sensor.

An image reading apparatus that controls relative positions of a carriage and a document in a first direction using a motor, so as to read an image of the document on a line by line basis, the carriage being mounted with an image sensor and a light source. An image forming apparatus includes an image reading device; an image forming device including a photoconductor, a charger, an exposure device including a light-emitting element, a memory to store a first correction value for correction a light emission amount of the light-emitting element, and a driver to drive the light-emitting element, a developing device, a transfer device, and a fixing device. The image forming apparatus further includes a processor to calculate a second correction value for correcting the light emission amount, based on density data of image data of a predetermined pattern on a recording medium; calculate a third correction value for correcting the light emission amount, based on the first correction value and the second correction value; and determine, before calculating the third correction value, whether placement of the recording medium on the reading table is correct based on the density data.

An image forming apparatus includes an image reading device; an image forming device including a photoconductor, a charger, an exposure device including a light-emitting element, a memory to store a first correction value for correction a light emission amount of the light-emitting element, and a driver to drive the light-emitting element, a developing device, a transfer device, and a fixing device. The image forming apparatus further includes a processor to calculate a second correction value for correcting the light emission amount, based on density data of image data of a predetermined pattern on a recording medium; calculate a third correction value for correcting the light emission amount, based on the first correction value and the second correction value; and determine, before calculating the third correction value, whether placement of the recording medium on the reading table is correct based on the density data.

An image reading apparatus includes a conveyance member, a transparent member, a background member, and a reading unit. The reading unit arranged on an opposite side to the background member with respect to the transparent member. The reading unit includes a light source and a reading sensor. The shadow of the sheet is projected onto the background member. As viewed in a width direction perpendicular to a conveyance direction, an irradiating direction of the light inclines downstream in the conveyance direction toward a downstream side in the irradiating direction. The background member has a planar shape that is inclined to approach the transparent member from an upstream side toward a downstream side in the conveyance direction.
