IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
20200344360 · 2020-10-29 ·

An image forming apparatus includes a first reading unit configured to read a first image on a first surface of a document, a second reading unit configured to read a second image on a second surface of the document different from the first surface, a printing unit configured to print a third image on a sheet, and a setting unit configured to set resolution of the third image printed by the printing unit. The printing unit prints the third image on the sheet with the resolution set by the setting unit. The printing unit also prints a fourth image with resolution lower than or equal to a threshold, without using the set resolution, the fourth image used for correction of at least a color value obtained by reading the second image using the second reading unit.

Provided is a positioning adjustment apparatus for a mobile device in scanning and photography, including a main body and a lifting unit. An object to be scanned is placed on the main body, and the mobile device placed on a carrier platform of the lifting unit can move up and down along with the lifting unit to adjust a distance between the mobile device and the object to be scanned. After scanning, a document is sent directly to a shredder. The invention also provides a wireless signal transmission to operate the mobile device for scanning or photography to meet various demands of the users.

IMAGE READING APPARATUS

An image reading apparatus including: a reading unit configured to read an image of an original in a main scanning direction; a housing configured to accommodate the reading unit; a guide member configured to guide a movement of the reading unit in a sub-scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction; and a restricting member configured to restrict the movement of the reading unit in the sub-scanning direction and a movement of the reading unit in a vertical direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction.

Handheld device for capturing text from both a document printed on paper and a document displayed on a dynamic display device

A device for capturing rendered text is described. The device incorporates one or more visual sensors that receive visual information as a part of capturing rendered text. The visual sensors are collectively capable of capturing both text that is permanently printed on a page, and text that is displayed transitorily on a dynamic device. The device further incorporates a visual information disposition subsystem for disposing of visual information received by the visual sensors. The device further incorporates a package that bears the visual sensors and the visual information disposition subsystem, and is suitable to be held in a human hand.

An image reading apparatus compares a difference in luminance value between a pixel of interest in image information acquired via a reading unit and a pixel separated from the pixel of interest by a first distance with a first threshold value. Further, the image reading apparatus compares a difference in luminance value between the pixel of interest and a pixel present within a range to a pixel separated from the pixel of interest by a second distance that is larger than the first distance with a second threshold value. The image reading apparatus determines whether or not the pixel of interest is an edge pixel at an original end portion based on results of those comparisons, and determines an original size based on a result of the determination.
