One or more devices may detect an indication of relevant multiple images of an environment of a vehicle. The indication may include at least one of input from a user of the vehicle, a set of instructions, or a threshold measurement by a sensor. The one or more devices may mark the multiple images of the environment as relevant. The one or more devices may identify corresponding types of one or more objects shown in the multiple images. The one or more devices may determine whether the multiple images show an occurrence of an event with respect to the one or more objects. Detection of the event may be based on determining corresponding locations of the one or more objects in relation to each other or to the vehicle. The one or more devices may perform, based on whether the multiple images show the occurrence of the event, one or more actions.

Systems and methods in accordance with the invention allow automatic recording, sharing, and communicating of different parameters associated with images and their imager to define a specific system behavior of a display device or an algorithm unit. Examples of information include imager parameters, environment parameters, image processing and enhancement parameters, coordinates of a section of wide-angle scene image content, display parameters, defined user experience, defined system behavior or any information to be recorded, shared, and communicated. To avoid loss of information, the information is encoded directly in the picture using a marker. This way, the information is robustly transferred from the imager to the display unit. According to the information, the final image can be automatically corrected and enhanced before display, different associated parameters can be displayed on final image or be used with another output. The end user experience or system behavior can thus be defined and be reproduced.

An electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus includes a camera, a storage, and a processor configured to store an image photographed by the camera and metadata of the image in the storage, the processor is further configured to identify whether first information related to the image is obtainable, based on the first information not being obtainable, generate metadata related to the first information based on second information, and store the generated metadata as metadata of the image.

A method and apparatus for secure transfer and playback of multimedia content enables the secure transfer of multimedia content from a digital video recorder (DVR) to a personal computer (PC) and further to a handheld device. A DVR determines which devices on a Local Area Network (LAN) are authorized to share and/or retrieve content from the DVR. The DVR receives a connection request from a PC on the LAN, authorizes the connection request and establishes a secure connection between the DVR and the PC. Once the secure connection is established, the DVR receives a request for multimedia content from the PC, prepares the multimedia content for transfer and transfers the multimedia content to the PC.

Apparatuses and methods are provided for storing information related to objects associated with a hand of a user via a wearable camera system. In one implementation, a wearable apparatus for storing the information is provided comprising a wearable image sensor configured to capture a plurality of images from the environment of the user, and at least one processing device programmed to process the images. The processing device may detect the hand of the user, and an object associated with the user's hand. The processing device may proceed to store information related to the object. Consistent with disclosed embodiments, the stored information may be used for various purposes, such as warning the user of dangers, catering advertising to the user, and helping the user find objects when they are lost.

An album generation apparatus comprises a first acquisition unit configured to acquire identification information for identifying a combination of a user and a mobile object, a second acquisition unit configured to acquire one or more images from one or more image capturing apparatuses, a selection unit configured to select, from the one or more images, an image including the combination of the user and the mobile object by using the identification information, and a generation unit configured to generate an album by using the selected image.

An image capture apparatus displays a live view image that is based on an acquired image, stores image data that is based on the acquired image, and acquires additional information associated with a predetermined subject included in the live view image. The image capture apparatus superimposes the additional information on the live view image and displays the resulting image before the image data is stored, and stores the image data and the acquired additional information in association with each other.

An imaging apparatus includes an imager and an image converter. The imager captures an image of a subject to generate original image data representing the image captured with a predetermined resolution. The image converter performs a predetermined conversion process on the original image data. The image converter reduces a resolution of the original image data to generate first image data representing an entire image represented by the original image data with a resolution being lower than the resolution of the original image data. The image converter clips a part of the image represented by the original image data to generate second image data representing the part of the image clipped from the entire image represented by the original image data.

Systems and techniques for determining a list of geographic location candidates from an image of an environment are described. Open source data indicative of the earth's surface may be obtained and combined into grids to create region data to gain a representation of the earth's surface within each grid cell. An image of an environment may be obtained from an unknown camera. Image characteristics may be compared to the region data to determine error between the image characteristics and projections of the region data. A list of lowest error geographic location candidates may be determined and provided to the user.
