Image forming apparatus forming image on paper
An image forming apparatus includes a paper reading section, a similarity judgment section, and a control section. Between a downstream side in a paper conveyance direction of the paper feed section and a position where image formation is performed, the paper reading section reads an existing image already formed on a surface opposite to a formation surface of a new image newly formed on paper by an image formation section. Based on image data of the new image and image data of the existing image obtained by the image formation section, the similarity judgment section judges similarity between the both images. The control section, upon judging that the similarity is high, causes a pattern image to be formed on a surface of the paper where the existing image is formed, and upon judging that the similarity is not high, does not cause the pattern image to be formed.
COLOR TABLE COMPRESSION
A memory device includes a compressed color table and corrective information. The compressed color table includes a first set of nodes of the color table compressed with a lossy compression at a selected compression ratio. The first set of nodes include a color difference within an error threshold at the selected compression ratio. Corrective information is included for a second set of nodes of the color table. The second set of nodes have a color difference outside the error threshold.

An image forming apparatus includes a paper reading section, a similarity judgment section, and a control section. In some examples, a component for a printing device includes a memory device comprising a plurality of corrective data to produce a corresponding plurality of color tables each customized for a respective media type of a plurality of media types, wherein a respective corrective data of the plurality of corrective data corresponds to nodes of a reference color table for the printing device that is able to accept the plurality of media types for printing. The respective corrective data includes a plurality of residual values to transform the nodes of the reference color table to a customized color table for use with a selected media type of the plurality of media types.
Method and printer for increasing the print quality of a printer
A method to increase the print quality of a printer can include determining sensor data corresponding to a print image printed by a print head of the at least one print head of the printer onto the recording medium; determining, based on the sensor data, undulation information corresponding to unevenness of the recording medium, a distance between the one or more nozzles of the print head of the printer and the recording medium varying due to the unevenness; and printing, based on the undulation information, a subsequent print image with the print head of the printer. The printer can include at least one print head including one or more nozzles that are configured to fire ink droplets onto a recording medium to generate a print image on the recording medium.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes a processor to execute one of a plurality of modes. In a first mode the processor controls an image forming portion to form an image on the sheet only if a sheet type included in an image forming job is consistent with the sheet type stored in a storage portion, and in a second mode the processor controls image formation even if the sheet type is inconsistent with the stored sheet type. In a third mode the processor displays the type setting screen on the display at a time when the sheet is supported on the sheet support portion. In a condition in which the processor is set in the third mode, the display is controlled so as not to display the type setting screen at the time the sheet is supported on the sheet support portion in the second mode.
Display control apparatus and method for calculating gloss parameter during page turn of print preview
A display control apparatus includes an acquiring unit, a generating unit, and a display control unit. The acquiring unit acquires an image data group. The generating unit generates a layout image of a spread page, an image based on image data selected from the image data group acquired by the acquiring unit being arranged in the layout image. The display control unit causes a display unit to display a preview image of the layout image of the spread page generated by the generating unit based on a gloss parameter. The gloss parameter is used in varying a glossiness of the page of the preview image depending on a position of an end of the page in the preview image.
