The notification of the information represents the sheet types in a notification order decided based on the reference attribute values stored in the history information and the attribute value obtained by the measurement unit.

A reflected light amount from a patch under a first light source is acquired, and a reflected light amount from the patch under a second light source whose wavelength band is different from the first light source is acquired. The type of a printing medium on which the patch is printed is determined based on the ratio of the two acquired reflected light amounts.

In a printing system capable of supplying a sheet of a job having undergone print processing by the printing unit of a printing apparatus to a post-processing unit capable of executing at least a specific type of post-processing among a plurality of types of post-processes, when the target job requires the specific type of post-processing, the printing apparatus is inhibited from executing print processing of the job without explicitly determining a sheet necessary for the print processing of the job by a user using a user interface unit. Printer tray orientation and print size selection includes receiving printable media in a tray of a printer. Tray guide positions of the tray are measured. An overall list overall list of all sizes of printable media capable of fitting in the tray is created by comparing dimension ranges of the tray guide positions to a predetermined media size dimension list for the tray in multiple orientations. A prioritized list of printable media sizes capable of fitting in the tray for given tray guide positions is created. A preferred printable media size is selected based on the prioritized list.

Example implementations relate to substrate permeability assessment. Some examples may determine whether voids are shown in an image of a substrate and whether there is a repeating pattern in the image. Some examples may also determine whether printing fluid would pass through the substrate during printing based on the determinations of whether voids are shown in the image and whether there is a repeating pattern in the image.

In some examples, a component for a printing device includes a memory device comprising a plurality of corrective data to produce a corresponding plurality of color tables each customized for a respective media type of a plurality of media types, wherein a respective corrective data of the plurality of corrective data corresponds to nodes of a reference color table for the printing device that is able to accept the plurality of media types for printing. The respective corrective data includes a plurality of residual values to transform the nodes of the reference color table to a customized color table for use with a selected media type of the plurality of media types.
