Image forming apparatus and method conditionally estimating remaining toner using correction information
According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a printer unit that includes a driving member related to the supply of the developer, a storage unit that stores correction information regarding the correction of a supplied amount of the developer and a remaining amount of the developer, and a control unit. The control unit acquires driving information regarding the driving of the driving member. The control unit acquires the correction information in accordance with the remaining amount of the developer and estimates the remaining amount of developer based on the driving information and the correction information when the remaining amount of the developer stored in the storage unit satisfies a predetermined condition regarding the remaining amount, and estimates the remaining amount of the developer based on the driving information when the remaining amount of the developer stored in the storage unit does not satisfy the predetermined condition.
Ink usage estimation for each drop size based on histogram and calibrated drop fraction
A system is disclosed. The system at least one physical memory device to store ink estimation logic and one or more processors coupled with the at least one physical memory device, to execute the ink estimation logic to receive a histogram for each of a plurality of color planes, receive uncalibrated drop fraction data for each of a plurality of drop sizes in a printing system, perform a direct drop fraction conversion of the uncalibrated drop fraction data to generate calibrated drop fraction data for each of the plurality of drop sizes by applying a first transfer function to the uncalibrated drop fraction data and generate estimated ink usage data for each of the plurality of drop sizes based on the histograms and the calibrated drop fraction data.
INKJET PRINTER CONTROL METHOD
Methods of controlling an inkjet printer are disclosed. The methods include defining shape information using a design graphics system. The shape information includes fill colors for shapes, and may include colors for edges. The colors are interpreted as one or more attributes, such as film thickness or material, for a film to be formed on a substrate.
TEMPERATURE ESTIMATION OF DC MOTOR BASED ON SENSING VOLTAGE
An image forming apparatus includes a print engine, a DC motor, a driving circuit, and a processor. The print engine forms an image. The DC motor drives the print engine. The driving circuit provides a current to the DC motor, and senses a variation of the current provided to the DC motor. The processor calculates a temperature of the DC motor based on the variation of the current flowing through the DC motor, and controls an operation of the image forming apparatus based on the calculated temperature.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD
An image forming apparatus includes a scanner, a receiver, and a controller. The scanner scans a document to obtain image data representing the scanned document. The receiver receives faxed image data. The controller includes a processor and a memory, performs processing for reducing usage of a consumable material on the image data obtained by the scanner, and does not perform the processing on image data obtained from an external apparatus.
TEMPERATURE ESTIMATION OF STEP MOTOR BASED ON SENSING VOLTAGE THEREOF
An image forming apparatus and an image forming method are provided. The image forming apparatus includes a printing engine to form an image, a step motor to drive the printing engine, a driving circuit to provide a constant current to the step motor and sense a voltage corresponding to a magnitude of the constant current provided to the step motor, and a processor to calculate a temperature of the step motor based on the voltage sensed by the driving circuit during an excitation period of the step motor and control an operation of the image forming apparatus based on the calculated temperature.
DIRECT DEPOSIT INK ESTIMATION MECHANISM
A system is disclosed. The system at least one physical memory device to store ink estimation logic and one or more processors coupled with the at least one physical memory device, to execute the ink estimation logic to receive a histogram for each of a plurality of color planes, receive uncalibrated ink deposition data for a printing system, perform a direct conversion of the uncalibrated ink deposition data to generate first calibrated ink deposition data and generate estimated ink usage data for each of the plurality of color planes based on the histograms and the first calibrated ink deposition data.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit to perform an image forming process of forming a plurality of test charts having different adhesion amounts of an image forming material on a recording medium. The image forming process includes a transfer process of transferring the image forming material to image forming positions on the recording medium. The image forming apparatus further includes an image reading unit, circuitry, and a storage unit. The image reading unit reads each of the plurality of test charts. The circuitry calculates adjustment values for adjusting images formed at the image forming positions on a first side and a second side of the recording medium depending on adhesion amounts of the image forming material on the first side and the second side based on a reading result of the plurality of test charts by the image reading unit. The storage unit stores the adjustment values.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An information processing apparatus capable of executing adjustment of an image formation position at a timing determined based on the number of printed sheets according to a user's request. Adjustment modes for use in adjusting geometrical characteristics of an image which is printed on a sheet are displayed for causing an image forming apparatus to print an adjustment chart. A controller receives first information indicating whether or not to execute a first adjustment mode for causing the image forming apparatus to print the adjustment chart based on the number of sheets on which images have been printed by the image forming apparatus, and receives second information indicating whether or not to execute a second adjustment mode for causing the image forming apparatus to print the adjustment chart based on a result of detection by a temperature sensor provided in the image forming apparatus.
