A processor of the image forming apparatus determines the paper on which an image specified for the print job is formed based at least in part on the paper information specified for the print job, the plurality of paper information of the paper set in the plurality of trays and the print setting information.

While a cost is suppressed by providing no sensor configured to detect a size of a document, and a user's operation load for adjusting the position of the document is reduced, printing positions of an image on the surface of the document and an image on the back thereof are placed on the same location.

An image forming apparatus, comprising a conveying component configured to convey a first sheet having a first wireless tag and a second sheet having a second wireless tag; a printer configured to form an image in a sheet conveyed by the conveying component; an antenna configured to transmit a radio wave in a first polarization direction and a second polarization direction which is different polarization direction from the first polarization direction; and a processor that starts to convey the first sheet by the conveying component; acquires a response to the radio wave of the first polarization direction transmitted by the antenna from the first wireless tag provided on the first sheet during the first sheet being conveyed by the conveying component, start to convey the second sheet by the conveying component; acquires a response to the radio wave of the second polarization direction transmitted by the antenna from the second wireless tag provided on the second sheet during the second sheet being conveyed by the conveying component, and determines, from the first polarization direction and second polarization direction, the polarization direction appropriate with respect to the first wireless tag and the second wireless tag.

A printing apparatus includes a storage unit for storing information indicating an orientation of a sheet stacked in a sheet stacking unit, a determination unit that determines whether to print an image in a first orientation corresponding to a case where the sheet is conveyed with a short side thereof as a leading edge from the sheet stacking unit, or to print the image in a second orientation corresponding to a case where the sheet is conveyed with a long side thereof as the leading edge from the sheet stacking unit, according to a setting value based on an operation of a user in a case where the information indicating the orientation of the sheet stacked in the sheet stacking unit is not stored in the storage unit.

An image quality control and adjustment apparatus includes a management unit and a controller. The management unit manages operation specification information. The controller performs, in a case where an operation that conforms to the operation specification information is performed, an image quality adjustment for an image forming apparatus using a result obtained from the operation, and does not perform, in a case where an operation that does not conform to the operation specification information is performed, an image quality adjustment for the image forming apparatus using a result obtained from the operation.

An image forming apparatus includes a search unit that, in a case where job data in which a sheet type in sheet feeding setting information is specified is received, searches for a sheet cassette of which a sheet type in sheet setting information of the sheet cassette is unregistered, and an execution unit that, in a case where, as a result of the search, there is a sheet cassette of which a sheet type in the sheet setting information is unregistered, executes processing of sheet type detection for detecting a type of a sheet set in the sheet cassette.

An image forming apparatus is provided with a storage unit for storing setting information including at least a size of a substitute recording medium, and a processing unit for executing a print instruction by automatically changing a size of a recording medium to be used to the size of the substitute recording medium based on the setting information stored in the storage means, when the size of the recording medium specified by the print instruction is not available.

A printing apparatus includes a storage unit for storing information indicating an orientation of a sheet stacked in a sheet stacking unit, a determination unit that determines whether to print an image in a first orientation corresponding to a case where the sheet is conveyed with a short side thereof as a leading edge from the sheet stacking unit, or to print the image in a second orientation corresponding to a case where the sheet is conveyed with a long side thereof as the leading edge from the sheet stacking unit, according to a setting value based on an operation of a user in a case where the information indicating the orientation of the sheet stacked in the sheet stacking unit is not stored in the storage unit.
