An image forming apparatus includes a reading portion for reading a shape of a first sheet, said reading portion having a function of reading a second sheet carrying an original image; an image forming portion for forming a toner image corresponding to the original image read by said reading portion; a fixing portion for fixing the toner image formed by said image forming portion; and a controller for controlling a fixing condition of said fixing portion in accordance with the shape of the first sheet read by said reading portion.

A reference image is generated based on processing information on processing including a process of inserting a second object into a first object configured such that the second object inserted therein is at least partially visible, and based on an image of the first object and an image of the second object. A captured image obtained by capturing an image of the first object with the second object inserted therein is verified with the reference image. The result of the verification is output.

What is disclosed is a system for registering an object in a direct-to-object print system and a direct-to-object print system configured to operatively use various embodiments of the registration system of the present invention. In one embodiment, the marking system comprises a registration panel with a plurality of registration markings. A camera captures an image of the object in the object holder and the registration panel. A processor receives the image and analyzes the image to determine a position of the object relative to the markings on the registration panel. The processor determines whether the object is registered. If the object is registered, a controller causes the object holder to move the object past the printhead. Otherwise, if the object is not properly registered then the processor prevents the object from being printed and communicates a notification to a user that the object in the object holder is not registered.

What is disclosed is a system for registering an object in a direct-to-object print system and a direct-to-object print system configured to operatively use various embodiments of the registration system of the present invention. An apparatus may include a housing defining a first opening, a second opening, and a cavity connecting the first opening to the second opening, the cavity may receive a user's extremity through the first opening and to allow egress through the second opening. An apparatus may include a visualization module configured to superimpose visual media equivalent to a desired tattoo onto the user's extremity within the cavity. An apparatus may include a printer module disposed within the cavity to apply the desired tattoo, the printer module including one or more print heads for administering temporary tattoo ink to apply the temporary tattoo to the user's extremity. An apparatus may include a user interface terminal configured to allow a user to select the temporary tattoo from among a number of candidate temporary tattoos and to adjust one or more properties of the temporary tattoo prior to application of the temporary tattoo.

Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for providing print dimensions from a printer. An example method includes analyzing a first roll of a printer, the first roll holding first paper having a first width; determining, via a processor of the printer, a first print dimension of the first paper on the first roll based on the first width; and providing the first print dimension to an electronic device, the electronic device to use the first print dimension to determine whether content is to be clipped when printed on the first paper.

Optimal template component printing includes reading from a pool, a set of printable pieces, each corresponding to a pattern for a respective garment, and each having known dimensions. A starting point is located on a section of a fabric substrate onto which the pieces are to be printed. Different piece combinations are then computed for different subsets of the pieces in the set for which a sum of the known dimensions of the pieces of the subset is less than or equal to a constraining dimension of the fabric substrate as measured from the starting point. A combination is selected which minimizes a difference between the constraining dimension and the sum and a printer is directed to print the pieces of the selected combination onto the fabric substrate. Finally, the pieces of the selected combination are removed from the pool and the process repeats for remaining pieces in the pool.

There is provided a recording medium having a printer driver embodied therein, the printer driver causing, when executed by a processor, the processor to implement a method. The method includes: receiving, with the processor, an input of information that includes an instruction on setting a first region; and generating, with the processor, frame data that includes a first frame and an instruction marker. The first region is included in a medium region that corresponds to a print medium. The first frame surrounds the first region. The instruction marker is adapted to give an instruction on setting a position of the first frame in the medium region.

An image forming apparatus includes a reading section and an image forming section. The reading section reads a plurality of images from a document. The image forming section forms the plurality of read images on a sheet. The plurality of images include a first image and a second image. The first image has a first color. The second image has a second color. The second color is different from the first color. The image forming section forms the first image on a first main side of the sheet and the second image on a second main side of the sheet.
