An image forming apparatus includes: a scanning unit configured to form an electrostatic latent image on a photoconductor by scanning the photoconductor with one or more scanning beams in a main scanning direction based on an image signal, repetitively in a sub-scanning direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction; a generating unit configured to perform halftone processing on image data to generate the image signal; and a storage unit configured to store correction information. The correction information is set such that start positions of a plurality of scanning lines are linearly displaced to either a negative side or a positive side of the main scanning direction along the sub-scanning direction, in accordance with a direction of a first vector forming a smaller angle with the sub-scanning direction among two vectors in the halftone processing.

A laser printing system includes a laser configured to produce a beam of light modulated according to image data input to the laser printing system, a photoreceptor drum including a photoconductive layer disposed along an outer peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum, and a non-mechanical beam steerer configured for receiving the modulated light beam from the laser and steering the light beam in a scanning motion back and forth across the photoconductive layer of the photoreceptor drum. The laser printing system also includes a printer controller configured to structure the image data input to the laser printing system, and control an amount of electrical current flowing through portions of the non-mechanical beam steerer to change an effective index of refraction of the non-mechanical beam steerer and steer the modulated light beam in the scanning motion.

Wherein (f) the correction process part regularly judges whether or not a correction process execution condition is satisfied, and performs a regular correction process when the correction process execution condition is satisfied, and (g) the print mode management part judges whether or not another print process in the designated print mode has been performed after a previous regular correction process, and sets a print mode based on a judgment result by the print mode management part.

An image forming device according to an embodiment includes a photosensitive drum and a light-emitting unit with a plurality of light-emitting elements which form an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive drum. A processor controls a storage unit to store a cumulative light emission time of each light-emitting element. The processor further controls the storage unit to store an adjustment time which is shorter than a longest cumulative light emission time of the light-emitting elements. When a predetermined condition is satisfied, the processor controls at least one of the light-emitting elements that has a cumulative light emission time which is shorter than the adjustment time to emit light until the cumulative light emission time thereof equals the adjustment time.
