An image forming apparatus includes a setting unit, an image reading unit, an image forming unit, and a setting changing unit. The setting unit sets copying conditions. The image reading unit reads images from sheets to generate image data and writes the image data into a memory unit. The image forming unit forms images on sheets based on the image data written into the memory unit. The setting changing unit changes the setting of the copying conditions when a new copying condition is set during the image forming of the image data written into the memory unit.

Disclosed is a system and method for transmitting data to a device based on an entry of a rundown for a news program. An example method involves: (i) a first device recording data transmitted from a second device to a third device; (ii) assigning an identifier to the recorded data; (iii) selecting an entry from a rundown including entries indicative of a sequence of events related to a news program; (iv) making a determination that the selected entry is associated with the assigned identifier; and (v) responsive to making the determination, causing the recorded data to be transmitted to the third device.

Disclosed is a system and method for transmitting a packet stream to a device. An example method involves: a first device recording a packet stream transmitted from a second device to a third device; identifying a first packet having a final portion of a first data block, wherein a second packet is next after the first packet; determining a time period between transmission of the first and second packets; using the recorded packet stream to generate another packet stream; identifying a third packet that includes a final portion of a second data block corresponding to the first data block, wherein a fourth packet is next after the third packet; and transmitting the generated packet stream to the third device, wherein transmitting the generated packet stream to the third device involves: transmitting the third packet and following at least the determined time period after transmitting the third packet, transmitting the fourth packet.

Provided is an image forming system including an image forming apparatus, and a processing apparatus that is provided in the image forming apparatus, wherein the processing apparatus includes a memory that stores at least image data, a determiner that determines degradation status of the memory, and an interface unit that is used for connection of a processing-apparatus-side display device which displays information of the processing apparatus, the image forming apparatus includes an image-forming-apparatus-side display that displays information of the image forming apparatus, and the processing apparatus causes the image-forming-apparatus-side display to display an alert in a case where the determiner determines that the degradation status satisfies a predetermined condition, when the processing-apparatus-side display device is not connected to the interface unit.

An image data storing device includes: an image data obtaining unit that obtains image data; a storing unit that stores the image data obtained by the image data obtaining unit into any one of plural storage regions, to each of which a name is assigned; a reception unit that receives the name of the storage region in which the image data is stored from external equipment, the name being obtained by the external equipment that takes the image data from the storage region, and the name being set by a user; and a memory that stores the name received by the reception unit in association with the storage region.
