A seed dispensing device for sowing machines that allows a continuous and synchronized sowing of seeds, depositing the seeds at the same separation distance, optimizing and thus providing a better sowing operation.

A seed delivery apparatus having a seed meter configured to entrain seeds on a seed disc and to release said entrained seeds at a seed release location; a seed conveyor having an upper end disposed to receive released seeds from said seed meter and a lower end through which the released seeds are discharged proximate a soil surface; and a loading wheel rotatably disposed at said upper end of said seed conveyor to introduce the released seeds from said seed meter into said seed conveyor, wherein said loading wheel has a plurality of radial fingers with each of said radial fingers having a sinusoidal configuration.

A method including adjusting a changeable component of a seed planting machine when switching from a first variety of seed to a second variety of seed during planting, wherein the adjusting is based on a location of the planting machine.

A seed meter for metering a plurality of seeds includes a seed meter housing defining a seed inlet, a seed outlet, and a chamber therebetween, a hub rotatably mounted to the seed meter housing about a rotational axis and extending from a first end positioned within the chamber of the seed meter housing to a second end positioned outside of the seed meter housing, a metering element mounted to the hub within the chamber, a plurality of drain apertures located in the seed meter housing adjacent to the hub, and a handle mounted to the second end of the hub, the handle extends over the plurality of drain apertures in an axial direction parallel to the rotational axis of the hub.

Described herein are systems, methods, and apparatus for agricultural planting including selecting and varying agricultural input types during an in-field operation. In one embodiment, a method calculates a partial addition of seed to a seed pool during planting to minimize or eliminate seeds in the seed pool (520) as a boundary is crossed.

Seed meter for planting different seed varieties including back cover, disk and front cover. Back cover includes seed separation device providing first seed pool area and second seed pool area with help of the back cover. First seed pool area receives first type seeds, and second seed pool area receives second type seeds from first seed chamber and second seed chamber, respectively of a seed hopper. Disk includes at least two rows of apertures disposed in alignment with first seed pool area and second seed pool area. Disk rotates with vacuum pressure and entrains the first type seeds and the second type seeds over the apertures until apertures rotate past an area where vacuum pressure is cut off from the apertures. First type seeds and second type seeds free-fall from the disk through a discharge chute in the back cover into a seed tube for depositing into a seed furrow.

A single-grain seeder for introducing seeds into soil, including a singulating member which is suitable for singulating seeds supplied from a storage container and for dispensing the seeds individually, wherein the single-grain seeder has an application unit for applying a dressing agent to a singulated seed, wherein the application unit is arranged with respect to the singulating member in such a manner that the dressing agent is applied to a seed after the seed has been singulated and prior to the seed being dispensed from the singulating member.

A mini-hopper for an agricultural row unit that has a fill tube supplying material to a hopper. A backflow preventer is disposed in the fill tube or in a line to the inlet to prevent flow of material from the mini-hopper through the fill tube when the mini-hopper is in a transport position.

A seed supply system includes a singulating meter with a seed reservoir pressurized to a meter pressure that is in a desired pressure range. A seed supply air stream carries seeds dispensed from a nurse tank to an air release assembly located above the singulating meter. As seeds are metered from the seed reservoir at a rate less than the rate seeds are dispensed from the nurse tank seeds accumulate in the air release assembly. The pressure of the seed supply air stream at the top of the seed column fluctuates and a barrier is operative to resist air flow between the air release assembly and the seed reservoir sufficiently to maintain the meter pressure in the desired meter pressure range. The barrier can be provided for example by an airlock or a column of seed in a drop tube between the air release assembly and the seed reservoir.

An agricultural planting implement is used to plant seed in a field. The implement includes an electrically-driven seed meter that is spaced on a toolbar of the implement. The seed meter, or other metering member, is a precision meter that is used to control the volume, spacing, and location of a seed that is delivered from a meter to the field. A seed source, such as a seed cart or hopper, is attached to the seed meters to provide an on-demand amount of seed to the meters for planting in the field.
